so how many points do we need and how do we get them?
at 14:22 10 Apr 2025

This Saturday is massive just to stop the rot. I know its a football cliché but we can only really take 1 game at a time. It's imperative we have the 3 points by 5pm Saturday - anything else and we might aswell forget about the play-offs.

Clarke would be a much better option than Evans. Didn't realise he'd played for us on loan in Parkins last half season with us. (Clarke not Evans).

Time to go Jim. The turning point
at 18:34 9 Apr 2025

Have you listened to any of his post match interviews? That first half performance in Jim's eyes is 'controlling the game'. Never mind we somehow didn't go in 1-0 down when Gordon gifted them practically an open goal and they contrived to hit the post. Of course that first half performance didn't bother him or else he should be shouting at the players to step it up rather than stood like a statue on the sideline stroking his chin.

And there's a way of shoving that back down the fans throats and saying ' shut up' - and that is to play better and try harder than the other guy and finish easy chances like last night!

It was a good save according to Dale commentary! Never a bad miss - they cant say that.
Also a great chance early in the 2nd half for Gordon and he ballooned it over. Then Rodney somehow got himself offside when looking right across the back line and he actually finished it into the far corner. We are just so wasteful, be it chances created or poor setpieces. Never mind Jim moaning about late goals - we had enough chances Tuesday/Saturday/Tuesday to win all 3 games comfortably.

Somehow there are 3 teams with worse form than us - and we play all 3 next 3 games
Eastleigh, Altrincham and Fylde.

Promoted twice with Salisbury by winning the play offs and play off wins with both Bristol Rovers and Port Vale. There cant be many lower league managers out there with that sort of success and he's available. Jims a nice man but this season is only going 1 way now sorry.

It's not too bad, Jim more or less said if games were only 86 mins long we'd have 2 away league wins this last week and be in a Wembley final 👍

I mean it just shows you how bad this league is that we could have gone 5th tonight with a win.
To think 10 years ago, season 14/15 we were finishing 8th in league 1 with one of our best attacking teams ever.

Awful awful result and another sleepwalking performance. No urgency and a number 9 who struggles to control the ball and score goals. Jim was probably happy with a 0-0. Can hear him now... 'I couldn't see them scoring Greg'. Well they did - nice guys dont win and Jim is a very very nice man. The play offs are looking like they are too much for us now. Our away form is shocking and we are so soft and easy to play against. Really cant see us winning another game this season.

I must admit Edwards stood out v Wolves in the last tinpot cup game. Surprised he's not featured before now.

We were obviously desperate to bring any sort of keeper in at this late stage of the season. Waller will be a massive loss as he made a lot of saves like Spennymoor's 1st goal. Barrett has played 10 (mens) games in his career after Saturday so there is no way he's been brought here on reputation - just a keeper available and we needed one.

Looking at his passing for their first equaliser on Sat he's not great with that either. I've re watched that goal a few times and its woeful in the extreme, just a comedy of errors and so weak - which will be why we either dont make the play offs or dont win them. Awful pass by keeper, poor control by Weston, weak attempt to win the ball back by Weston, weak attempt to win the ball back by Gilmour, then defenders stood like statues as their player is unmarked at the far post and finally Barrett flies out to block and the shot goes through him into the goal. Criminal after we'd just taken the lead.

And he's faced 6 penalties now and not looked like saving any. Infact I don't think he's made a save of any note yet? The jury is still out - hopefully tonight we see a clean sheet and a win to get over Saturday's disappointment quickly. We've still not won an away league game in 2025 yet.
