Prefer Scunthorpe winning to be honest - Borehamwood haven't lost in ages so its good they get knocked back a bit - and we have thevchance of overtaking them again now tomorrow. Scunthorpe aren't as consistent but can definitely cause an upset on their day.
Just seems quite a big difference to me. To have only lost 1 daytime game out of 17 played but lost 3 from 6 night matches. Hope it improves tomorrow night.
One more note of caution. Our night record for some reason seems to be not as good as weekend games. Out of the 4 league games we've lost 3 of them have been night matches.
Yes the key in most games for us is taking our chances because we do regularly create quite a few. Clean sheets have saved us in a fair few games - but we can't keep relying on those - if we could be a little more clinical infront of goal and improve our finishing we could make lives a lot easier for ourselves. Obviously getting Mani Dieseruvwe back onto the pitch will help us with this.
Great win, Gateshead had their chances but truthfully we should've put the game to bed a lot sooner - (a slightly worrying trend). Great goals the 2 we scored but I'm still not quite sure how Duku didn't put that one in on the line - he didn't show any desire to jump and head it in to the open goal? How he let the defender clear is baffling.
Southend should've snatched it in the end if Scott-Morriss had put a better ball across the 6 yard box for a tap in. A draw is a decent result for us though.
Dieseruvwe injury a real worry now. It's 6 weeks today since the Southend abandoned game where he picked up what looked like an innocuous kick on his heel. An update from Jim would be nice.
Tomorrow is the most important game of the season for me so far. Our early season swagger has gone a little, we lost to Hartlepool and Tamworth (pens) in our last 2 games, we've got 3 new players to bed in and we desperately need our number 1 and our number 9 back. Hoping for a good win and some good news regarding missing players.
Why are you counting Beckwith? He's not playing again this season - this lad from Cov sounds like his direct replacement - we need him as we are badly missing Beckwith on that left side.
I think longterm going out is a good thing. 3 more rounds potentially of postponed league games avoided (although the Southend game on Jan 31st has been due to their progress). York,Carlisle and Boreham Wood are all out so we can't fall further behind those 3 regarding even more games in hand - and York especially we don't want them to be winning league games without us even playing.
He was always a willing runner/workhorse - just the quality and finishing/decision making was lacking. He never stopped running today - a great quality to have in today's football.
It's an all weather pitch. I know its covered in snow but if it was cleared it would have been perfectly playable today? Why haven't they just cleared the snow? Too much effort?
