The second half was better but we huffed and puffed. Great save by the keeper from Gilmour's shot. Most would have taken 4 points from 6 over the Easter weekend and a home playoff game is still in our hands.
The rain may save Lancs, but three draws is not a good start for the so called title favourites. We have been outplayed by both Northants and Leicestershire. Everything just seems muddled. We have a test opener batting at 4 and a wicket keeper who has been short of runs batting at 5. Is Jones, who is opening actually a better red ball prospect than Bell/Singh/Fonseca? In the first game they went in without a spinner and then in this game Balderston was opening the bowling as Bailey was dropped so that Turner, a two game loan signing could play. There has been a lot of conjecture on X that the tempo of the batting has been too slow and almost inviting pressure and the inevitable fall of wickets.
Oh and Phillip's visa hadn't been secured for the first game of the season. It is not as if they had months to arrange it.
Impressive performance today. We took care of business well and it probably should have been more. Lots of impressive performances and a welcome clean sheet. Hopefully no more injuries and nearly a full weeks rest.
Edwards did well, especially his involvement in the fourth goal. He looks a much better option than Weston.
Unfortunately they are just cheap staff who do not actually do anything apart from randomly wanting to search people on a Tuesday night game when there is nobody there.
They have no affiliation to the club and have an even worse relationship with the supporters. Even the guy in charge of the Smiths Metals stand told me to not bother coming again when I queried the actions of one of the staff a few games ago.
A very good response and hopefully a better ticketing system and working turnstyles will help to speed up the process of getting people into the ground. Have Taurus had their day?
Just finished at Lords. A great game that went down to the last ball. When Wells and Balderson were in it looked promising, but after Wells got strangled down the leg side it was always shut up shop time.
We didn't close the cross and probably the keeper could have done better. Akinye had a good effort the phase of play before. We cannot manage the game with a one goal lead.
A great day for Lsncs in the end after a slow start. Aspinwall and Sutton stepping up and ripping out the middle and late order. It's a big season for Aspinwall as he has potential to be an all format all rounder. As is the way of seamers injuries took their toll last season.
The thing with East and Gilmour is that they have very similar playing styles. I would like to see a more box to box player in the Lund/Jones/Rathbone mould so that we have different options and can spread the physical load over the season.
I agree, it is a real shame. It was really useful, especially the local event listing and roadworks information.
Probably not enough eyeballs on the limited number of adverts and job listings to make enough money. It will leave a massive gap. The MEN website is increadibly bloated and does not really cover much in the Rochdale area.
