I’m loving memory to our dear brother who won every tournament on offer and was the very first to do so ...but more importantly a generous giving man. For those who don’t know he passed over at the age of 54 several months ago - God knows the story.

I just want to say as president what a very good season you have had and regardless of your champions league final outcome you will be one of the favourites for promotion next year.
A recap Happy cup finalist Play off semi finalist after finishing 3rd Champion league finalist - outcome pending
I announce today that after serious negotiations with 2 longstanding clubs of the Happy League- namely- MR HAPPY (the founder) and GOONERDES
.....It has been decided that these two famous old clubs - a mere 9 streets away from each other will form into a SUPER CLUB.
The new name - The Happy Gooner
I warn all participants that no expense has been spared and investment is high.
This concoction by the aforementioned or after mentioned - take your pick - in any case Jim and Des will rival clough and Taylor in their pomp.
We aim to clean up.
Board proposals Nothing less than the play offs in the first year Promotion within 2 seasons is a MUST All cups to be vigoriously contested with no weakened teams put out.
This a new dawn.
We are predicting we will be HAPPY LEAGUE champions inside 3 years.
Thank you x
Watch us go x
THE HAPPY GOONER 2017
Now defunct the extremely successful Mr Happy and GoonerDes
For what it's worth I landed in Colchester in 2005 the mega promotion season - the place was simply buzzin and in dreamland - that was 11-12 years ago - what an introduction. I loved layer Road and my young son and I used to cycle there and lock our bikes up in the ground. Great place for football. I remember you beating my beloved Rams 3-1 in the cup. I think you also done us 4-3 - not sure - but either way - I stormed the Derby coach in disgust and confronted the players ! Haha. Then it was onto the WHCS.
Times change but I would not swap my memories for anything or anyone - it's what life is all about .
It was at that time I had the brain wave - the Happy League . The rest is history.
