Refwatch - Sutton United v Rochdale

It's only a "good save" if the player gives the keeper an opportunity to save it, decent strikers just take the chance with the keeper nowhere near

Not sure how many lame performances, a distinct lack of bite and shite results its takes for some folk to realise the handbrakes firmly applied as we coast around the division gifting teams some of their easiest points of the season.

On first viewing i thought the keeper could have done more for both goals, let's not even talk about the overplaying for their first goal, its got beyond boring

Hes known we've needed a decent keeper, a permanent one ideally, we've clearly needed a strong mobile striker who can hold the ball up too for God knows how long but persistently signs lots of the same type of player, its not rocket science.

He's also set them up to play a certain way too many times regardless of personnel, not sure where the "sympathy" part comes into play though

This current crop of players have got to this position in the league despite of Jim not as a result of his wonderful ideas, let's make something pretty clear this league is absolutely terrible with the exception of a couple of sides, look how crap Oldham are too and how high up in the league they are.

I think the part that hurts the most is after all the shite and worry for everyone connected to the club for years this was as big a chance as we will EVER get to reach a final and play at Wembley, something that might not happen again for years and years and we've passed it up without even a whimper, this loss is FAR far bigger than that to FC United or even any other game i can remember in decades.

You're failing to acknowledge we've had around 94 minutes prior to their equaliser to gain sufficient control of a game whilst playing against a part time lower league team at home it should very much be a given, which inturn eradicates any need for just "two more minutes". Its pretty much not to worry we went in 0.0 so half the match doesnt even matter,

I'd probably read the room 442, you can dissect my post and the wording used all you like, or anyone elses, the end result of todays efforts are an absolute shambles and its the culmination of one man's work, Jim did well to steady the ship in very choppy waters and he's clearly a decent fella to that theres no debating at all, but the facts are it's simply not good enough, he's simply not good enough.

Maybe if we'd have "set the tempo" first half we'd be out of sight by half time, we won't know because we're still trying to find reason why we think we can just turn up for the last 45 dissecting that and the first half makes zero difference to the outcome of a whole game.

It could have been very much won though had we started at the right tempo and scored a couple of goals playing on the front foot before half time.

Yep, the whole of the first half, its not a rarity its become far too common, not sure how many more times you want me to say it though, decent sides set up correctly and set the tempo for the match, dominate straight from the kick off, we're nowhere near good enough to just turn up for 45 minutes and expect trips to Wembley, todays game was an absolutely massive opportunity for a trip to Wembley the equivalent to a tap in to an open net, we've spectacularly somehow managed to blaze it over the bar, I'll let everyone else decide who's to blame for that

Whilst moaning about opposition teams "budgets" when we invariably lose to them, let's see if Jim mentions the difference in budgets post match today

"Once again", means its happened before, and again, again and.....repeat until very bored, not just today's game

You asked how was the description based on today's game, the whole first half would slot firmly into that, no need to apologise either.

You're absolutely spot on, its boringly predictable while pur embarrassments reach new depths, its weird how some folk accept such things even more so still try to justify it.

You didn't specify your comment was purely about today, hence my response, I do read all your posts I'd dont need a request to do so, similarly I read many of the other posters too, yet your loyalty to defend him or find some reasoning is getting pretty bizarre.

Reality is we all know the game was never "as good as won" while we've got him in charge and only a 1 goal cushion, we've got a soft underbelly have done for what feels like forever, and dont bully games nowhere near enough, its nothing new its never been addressed, while we fanny about signing lots of similar players the squad doesnt even need.

If your aunty had balls she'd be your uncle.....you can't blame the ref or even"luck" for failing to beat the lowest ranked part time team in the competition at home, its piss poor and absolutely zero to do with "luck"

All the first half, not to mention far too many games all season we've let whistle passed us, not taking games to massively inferior opposition far too many times, leaving our best forward sat on the bench for far too many times this season, you need any more "indications" ?

Your loyalty to JM is admirable yet very much misguided, keep trying to defend him though by all means, the current team very much mirrors the guy sat in the dugout.

There's no "luck" attached to being unable to hold onto a lead, its boringly predictable and is very much guaranteed with the current manager in charge, this defeat hurts a lot, even more than games like the loss to FC United, the prize was MASSIVE yet we're once again presented with a car driving around with the handbrake firmly pulled up.

True to form when there's a decent crowd

How in God's name did we actually fook that opportunity up, we'll NEVER have a better chance to get to Wembley in the history of the sport.
