Indeed, we'd probably still be playing now. I haven't seen it back post-match but I'll be honest, even in avoiding the lunge I thought Taylor was caught. Immaterial now, but in a way I'm more annoyed about the blatant pull back of Taylor first half, right in front of the linesman, which didn't even get a yellow card. Yellow cards don't win games, but an early one does change the mindset of a defence. |

2+ years at Colchester BHS back in the day (the big store near Cheap Jacks). I'm not 100% certain on the years, but broadly about '77 to '80 I reckon. Mostly Saturday work, but full time during the summer holidays. I really enjoyed it too, and like to think I was pretty good at it (at least no one died that I'm aware of ) |

Why, because supporters (I'm a supporter btw, not a fan) disagree with you? Sorry you feel that way - I've offered arguments to debate, you've chosen not to. The U'sual has always been a broad church and I hope it remains so, but we don't really take well to personal insults, we've had our fair share of those in the past. I don't claim any specific knowledge of the game other than 50+ years of following the U's. |

We're celebrating a strong performance against a very good side. We're celebrating making ourselves hard to beat. We're celebrating not giving up. We're celebrating team spirit. We're celebrating a well-deserved point that until the 99th minute it didn't look like we'd get. Yes, we're not in a good position right now, but when you're fighting for every point today was exactly what we need. Undone by a ping-pong half chance to the best striker in the league, but that is what defines adversity. We came back. I'll bet the journeys back to West Yorkshire are far more miserable than those for U's fans across the world. And yes, I get DC used to be a PE teacher, I used to be a fish chef in BHS - doesn't define who I am today. |

Good performance, disappointing scoreline. Sounds too familiar, but I'm taking heart from that performance so far. Commentary trying to be fair to the referee, but to me he's been poor. That foul on Taylor looked a nailed-on penalty. |

...and no surprise it's Gillingham either, they love him just as much as we do. |

The perennial issue of head over heart. I know I've done better over the years with my head, but usually my heart takes over. Tomorrow, for instance, I've gone for 3-1 to the U's, Lyle to get the first. Either an inspired pick which should catapult me up the table, or a cry in the wilderness that I need help...or at maybe some sort of an intervention? |

Fair point Noah, and if they were there to say "I was there when the great [fill in name of choice] started his stella Arsenal career", on the evidence of last night, they're going to be disappointed. What I can't work out is why on earth the council didn't have the Park and Ride open - it was easy money, and it's not as if the club weren't saying ahead of the game that a big crowd was expected? Bradford City will travel in decent numbers, so let's see how many of the one-offs come back after (hopefully) enjoying a comprehensive 3-0 victory for the U's. Incidentally, because of the camera angle, facing an empty East Stand, I had no idea the crowd was so large. |

Without wishing to be too confrontational, I’m going to challenge that Noah. I don’t care why or how young people find themselves with a ticket and turn up for the game, nor whether they or anyone else stays to the end. Young supporters are the life blood of any football club, we shouldn’t be labeling them as “not proper U’s supporters”. These young people are pretty savvy, is that what we want them to read online? We were all young kids once, and here we still are. |

I'm on the $ky $ports feed, so don't have the benefit of David Gregory's wisdom. Shame! |

The even better news - 2-0 to the U's! I'll tell you what, we don't want this particular keeper in January! |

Probably should have drilled it first time? |

Spare a thought for Gloucester City. Despite being traditionally a 'southern' side all their existence, since 2004/05 they've bounced between northern and southern leagues, depending on who else was at the same level. They've actually spent the majority of those 20 years in a northern division, where they are currently. |

Mostly not, but on the only viewing I've seen, I did think there was suspicion their keeper got a hand to the ball when he came out of the box second half. However, not much of an appeal from the U's players, so probably not? |
