Saints Reveal New Away kit
Friday, 12th Jun 2015 08:15 by Nick Illingsworth

Saints have revealed the design for their away kit for the coming season although its colour scheme won't please all.

Saints have revealed that their new away kit for 2015/16 will be a lime green shirt with a dark blue sash, this won't be a surprise to many as this design along with the home kit was leaked on the internet months ago.

The design won't upset too many in that incorporating the sash that was so popular a few years ago and harking back to our beginnings in the Victorian era it will please the traditionalists.

Most fans i speak to like the sash, but they also feel that red & white stripes is part of our brand as such and is the kit we are known for, that being the case using the sash in the away kit is a good move and is something that we should consider keeping year in year out.

Having said that the colour scheme is perhaps the issue that will divide some supporters, although I don't think many can argue that it doesn't stand out from the crowd, it is not colours that are associated with Saints.

I appreciate in this modern age we can't have it every way and if we are to stick with the stripes for the home kit then more leeway has to be allowed on the away kit in terms of colour.

Having said that I do like it, it is perhaps not a colour shirt i would wear, but it does look good in my opinion and the sash gives it a classy look.

Overall I would have preferred to see it in yellow and blue , especially as the end of the coming season will see the 40th anniversary of the 1976 FA Cup final an event that cemented yellow & blue as key colours in our history, but perhaps we can do something next year.

I wonder if these colours and the design are popular in Europe and overseas , and are primarily designed with that market in mind .

Sorry Nick but this kit is hideous and I can only ask the question did we do any market research?

What self respecting Saints fan would have opted for this abomination? The colours are insipid and the design a complete hotch potch. It looks like it was agreed by a committee who had never been to a Saints game and never wished to.

Why on earth do the club management not talk to the fans any more? I suppose that they no longer need to as they are insulated from the fans wishes by shed loads of broadcasting money.

Lets hope the players can still see each other on the pitch unlike the famous grey colour shirts that Man Utd wore in that epic match against Saints.

It will be like having 10 goalkeepers on the pitch!

Is the keepers shirt yellow and blue by any chance??

i love this kit! As I never buy the home kit (sorry, just never fancied the red and white stripes), I always get the away kit and will be doing the same this year! its a beaut!

What a pendulum swing from last years! It's baffling they would pick this. If you had a car or house this colour people would point and laugh!
I might have to change the TV settings to Black & White for away games!
Maybe it's to induce nausea in the opposition?
Can we start a competition to pick how soon they get discounted at the club shop?

Boondocks said it, saintmark1976 said it this kit is mind-bogglingly hideous.

Must have been dreamed up by the Corporate Social Responsibility team... "Saints are going Green"

maybe the reason no one on here likes it is because these kits are aimed at the younger generation and this appeals to them and i think it actually looks good just not something an adult would wear and theres nothing wrong with that. the stripes cater for the older more traditional fans and the away kit for the kids. Another reason is the europa league where will face a lot more kit clashes etc. which is unlikely with this kit and i will bet that there will be a third kit aswel
