Now we have reached the play offs and they are like being in a cup competition, i thought id have a look at our progress in recent years, now i knew we were poor but we are the benifits streets team in them.

Since 1997-98 which was the last time we reach the 5th round of the FA cup we have reached only the, 4th round 4 times.

Since 1997-98 we have only made the 4th round of the league cup once.

1986-2014 FA cup played 65 W-18 D-20 L-27.
Home, played 31 W-12 D-11 L-8.
Away, played 34 W-6 D-9 L-19.

1986-2014 League cup played 74 W-36 D-8 L-30.
Home, played 37 W-20 D-1 L-16.
Away, played 37 W-16 D-7 L-30.

Not good reading, why are we so poor in one off games?.
slightly better in two leg games but those must of been against lesser opposition.

Win bonus might help..

"Stan work hard, could score goals in the air, and was complete team player. He headed balls off the line, and he had so much skill, balance, finesse and amazing touch. His mobility, that electrifying burst of 30 yards was exciting to watch"...Don Shanks.

What about glass half full version: 1 play off, got to Final and narrowly lost after Tommy Williams failed to 'square it'.

That makes better reading.

Or: We've never failed to reach a playoff final, and never lost a playoff final at Wembley...

I find it completey different and slightly irrelevant. Most FA Cup games halfway through the season and are meaningless to some teams in the 3rd round, play offs are at the end of the season and is like a semi-final cup game, so they are completely different. And also im not one to believe being bad in previous years makes a difference now

Even better, we could say we always beat a team from the North West and lose to a team from Wales and there are no Welsh teams in it. Derby do have a sheep on their badge though, so we had better give up now.

Thats true and dont forget the fire alarm.

I never look forward to the cups, its like a wasted weekend, i hope Harry can muster a Churchill like speach before the kick off.

Also, it's been a long time since HQ was rocking for a cup game. The place will be truly buzzing for the home leg.
