Potential Transfer Targets 16:45 - May 25 with 34079 views | eghamranger | TF and HR have apparently had this conversation. Who would you like? Or is anyone itk? Realistic only. When asked about Remy on SSN he did a politicians answer and said the circs have no changed....is that cos we got promoted, would love to keep him and play Austin and him upfront.
Potential Transfer Targets on 20:19 - May 26 with 2964 views | quickpassrotter | Danny Ings to partner with Charlie. Burnley would have to sell if the price was right. Hooper from Norwich. Micah Richards (as many have already mentioned) to partner Ned at the back. Two quick, young midfield players who can run all day. The two Derby boys obviously spring to mind - Hughes and Thorn

Potential Transfer Targets on 19:57 - May 26 by ericgen34 | Cabella and Stambouli, 2 young Montpellier players who are leaving the club this summer and said they would like a go in the premier league. Cabella is a very technical attacking midfielder, a bit like Ravel bt with a lot of pace, ad Stambouli a young Shaun Derry who can also play center back. Both would have a good sell on value as well in my opinion. |
Cabella will go to newcastle i think, but stambouli would be a good shout. I agree with the sentiment though, we should try and widen the search beyond Britain. There is good chance we could avoid escalated prices and if we get some decent scouts than there is no reason why we cant find decent players. However we need to maintain the same core from this season and look to the lower leagues.

Potential Transfer Targets on 15:58 - May 26 by 08olesen | After seeing the interview on YouTube with green, i really don't see how we cannot give him a new contract. The bloke stuck with us and has been good all season. He wants to stay and play for QPR. Naaa fcuk it! lets get a keeper who doesn't care about the club, or understand anything about the 'band of brothers mentality' we seem to have got going. Thats not a critcism of your post, i think pantimilion would have been good, but i think we owe it to green to give him another contract. But if we could get pantimilon at a low wage (very low) then why not have him as a back up, but i doubt it. |
Olesen I didnt mean dump Green, he is deserving of a new contract but not at 50k a week. And regarding Cesar I have seen those figures banded about but it really does not make sense. We let him play to get to the World Cup and have to pay 75k+ for the priviledge? Really doesnt make sense.

Yer I actually agree with you on Pontamillion being good in the long term, i just dont think its fair to put green in another really tough competition if we give him a new contract. Cesar should be got rid on a free and Green the undisputed number 1, even if it is only short term. he got fcuked over by hughes, so i think that as a club it would look good for the rest of the players that good performances and loyalty get results not money grabbing w@nkers.

Potential Transfer Targets on 20:04 - May 26 by Gloucs_R | Who were we after in Jan? Ajax striker and others |
I was thinking along similar lines earlier. Think the Ajax lad might've been a defender? Fully expect us to be linked with N'tep and Belfodil again. Think the Micah Richards story is a bit pie in the sky. Only last week he was being linked with Everton, Liverpool et al. Would love him (if he was over his injuries) but not quite realistic. I think our first signing should be Southamptons scout. Looked like they were spending for fun at one stage but you can't deny some of the players they've brought in have been brilliant. After that we should make Ravel permanent ;)

"The bloke stuck with us" as you put it because he was earning 50K a week and no other club in the world would go anywhere near that. Ever. He undoubtedly played well at the end of the season but he also dropped more than his share of changers over the course of the season. Whilst we are still shelling out on the majority of Cesar's 50K contract we simply cannot justify re-signing Rob Green. It's sheer lunacy. If Cesar's moves on after the World Cup, and we are finally rid of that wage, then we can look to sign a new keeper (maybe Green but on a lot less than he's currently earning) but if he doesn't then we have to play him. We can't continue paying someone 50K not to play. Btw "we owe it to Green to give him another contract" is fantasy stuff, same for some posters' views on Zamora. Between them they've been paid over £10 million over the past two years, one month of performances does not compensate for that.
Potential Transfer Targets on 09:45 - May 27 with 2537 views | GetMeRangers | Harry appears to be talking of maintaining the squad with a few, though not many additions. He certainly talks of Zamora doing a job for us next season. Pehaps he is hoping that a good dressing room spirit will be as important at helping us next year (and so by retaining those that some feel should leave) as much as who we get in http://www.player.qpr.co.uk/latest-news/article/3861191/date/20140527085100/page

I dont really know what your trying to say. I never said that we should keep Cesar, he should have never have arrived once Green was here, but its going to be very difficult to ship him off, because nobody will want to pay his wages. I would rather have someone who drops the occasional clanger and is a good influence to have in the club, than someone who could not give a fark at all. We really are gonna need some strong characters if we get into a relegation scrap and if we can get Green on a 1 year deal that is less than he is currently on, then it is a sure thing IMO.

Potential Transfer Targets on 10:02 - May 27 with 2517 views | robith | Guys, we shouldn't go anywhere near Micah Richards. He's barely played any football in the last 3 years as he's permanently injured. Maybe he'll bounce back, but at the capital and wage cost, I don't think we should be the ones to take the risk. I wouldn't mind us splashing a bit to try and get Caulker, because his value will only increase and will see us very strong at centre half. We'd face stiff competition though. I think we should learn our lesson from last time and supplement rather than replace - Green should stay. The man played the last 25 minutes of a near man of the match performance with a dislocated thumb - Harriman as back up for Simpson, another centre half and then maybe a left back? Yun is still Yun and Traore's future seems further up the field? Up for discussion. Happy to never see BAE in our colours ever again - In midfield I'd say we need some pace and legs in the centre of the park, and maybe some back up for the wings as Phillips and Hoilett are a tad injury prone. Attacking midfielder wise we're light; overall I'd have to say Niko has disappointed and while very talented, Morrisson is an absolute weapon of a human being we could do without so I wouldn't be unhappy if we shook their hands and said thanks - Maybe two strikers. I'd like Zamora to stay on a reduced contract for maybe a year - the year we stayed up, having a player like Zamora who you can lump up to and take the pressure off is important for a struggling team. Then we clearly need some back up for Austin, or maybe more of a hold up man - I've been impressed with Austin's effort and endeavour playing that role, but I'd like to see him able to play off some one more

You missed the point entirely. We can't keep two keepers on 50K a week. Green is out of contract so we should let him go and play Cesar, unless we can finally rid ourselves of him - which looks unlikely. If by some miracle he does leave then by all means sign Green, but on a hell of a lot less than he's currently on. Secondly, your suggestion that we "owe" Green a contract is laughable. He's been paid £5million over two years and the return on that is one month of good performances. Same goes for Zamora btw. They've both been overcompensated by QPR.

Mac has gone on record saying they are trying to get him back. Perhaps the lure of Prem would be enough. After his season, you would be surprised to see WBA let him go and would he swap clubs who will be occupying possibly the same positions in the PL?

This is odd. Yes i am NOT suggesting that Cesar and Green should both be in the squad by the first game. What i am a saying is that Cesar will be very difficult to get rid of, and should we achieve that, then Green should be our number one on a lesser contract, because he is a better presence around the club. However the fact that you think that Rob Green has only been good for 'one month' is almost laughable. Go and look at the average ratings for the season and i think you will find that due to the fact that he has the second highest average from us on the board shows that you may just be on your own with this one. This is not some radical view, i am simply saying that should the guy want to stay on a lesser contract, we should give it to him because he has been good all season and has premier league experience.

Potential Transfer Targets on 11:36 - May 27 with 2407 views | Flex | The thing that many people are missing is players that can play in a certain system, and adhere to specific tactics. What QPR lack is a playing philosophy. If you look at the likes of Derby, Wigan, Southampton, Swansea, Liverpool, Man City etc, they all have specific footballing ideals, and sign players to fit into this system. QPR simply sign players haphazzardly, and hope something sticks, this is exemplified by the fact that we had 8 loan players, and can only name 5 in a match day squad. What we first need is a system of play, and a preferred set-up. This would dictate the type of players we should pursue. No point going for Lampard. He has no pace, doesn't track back, and allows opposition midfielders to easily run off him. He cannot dictate play, and no longer has the legs. We cannot go for 'big name' players that have obvious deficiencies.

I agree with this. We sometimes seem to play the possession style of football, which obviously can work (Southampton, Swansea, Barca etc) but whether we have the players to do that at the top level i doubt it. We then have the long ball 442 scenario which has been used a lot recently, and then we have the the occasional game where Hoilet and Traore try and get to the by-line and get a cross in to Austins head. However with better defenders this could be very difficult for traore and hoilet to get a cross in the first place. Personally i think we keep the ball very well until we get pressed like Derby and Wigan did. Therefore if we upgrade the midfield with someone like Granero (not necessarily him) instead of an Oniel then we could do ok. However possession passing would limit the chances that Austin would get from crosses which seems to be a bonus of his.
