We have hardly ever put in a performance that thrilled the watching millions. Can anyone pick out the Highlight`s and the TV X rated performances? Mine I suppose would be the play off Semi Victory against Darlington...pure theatre. Will we see an Oscar winning performance on Sunday?
It was a dire performance in front of the Cameras almost exactly 9 years ago (Cup replay at Hartlepool) that put the final nail in Steve Parkin's coffin therby starting the Hilly era.
Darlington a lost 2-1 Darlington h WON 2-1 !!! Stockport Wembley lost 3-2 Darlington h lost 2-0 Gillingham h drew 0-0 Gillingham a lost 2-1 Luton h lost 2-0 bury a lost 1-0 Birmingham a lost 3-2 FC Utd h lost 3-2 bury a drew 0-0 Stoke h lost 4-1 Wigan h lost 2-0
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

I remember that game on that night, they was actually a pretty rubbish team at that time of the season It chucked it down and eventually I think they may have got promoted?

The Leeds FA Cup victory and the famous Southampton away victory, although not on UK scheduled TV, were televised internationally I believe.
No I'm afraid not, I think we could defo take some positive's out of that snippet of info however, a Leeds type of performance would certainly have us competitive. Wouldn't want to be seeing that limp effort we put in against Wigan.

Do these count?
I've only listed the scheduled TV games we've had in England. Obviously the Southampton and Leeds games were filmed to be shown on our terrestrial highlights programmes - and were available overseas. Certainly every Dale fan on Sunday is praying/hoping for a Leeds type performance - we all know Hill is capable of getting his team to do this.

I actually thought our 0-0 against bury in our second promotion season was a good game. Not a particularly great performance but a thrilling contest in which we had to dig deep and remember Lillis making a couple of excellent saves in injury time to keep us in it. We did well considering we played the whole of the 2nd half with 10 men and had some decent chances and could have won it. Important point which kept us in the title race.
12.00 (crap as I will miss the 1st half). I'm hoping in a reverse psychology kind of way that we will be great and I'll miss us going 2-0 up. In reality I'll miss nowt and it'll be 0-0.

Cheers for that. When you think about it we have had our fare share of television games over the years, we can't really complain.
If you take bury, Biffos and ourselves and add them all up over the last 15 years I reckon we would come out on top, that's what happens when you aren't unfashionable
Obviously Oldham are hampered by not having a proper local derby so don't attract the Television Companies interest.

What a terrible record but there's an obvious solution,Hilly just needs to do the opposite of what he does when it comes to preparing the team for a live televised game because the record suggests a bit more than bad luck.

Having watched Leeds a bit this and last season would fancy our chances if we drew them in the cup but would be worried about Leeds Pie Tax.
Watched the cup match v Leeds United in the Irish Rovers bar in Pattaya, Thailand. The only Rochdale fan, sat in the middle of about 50 vociferous Leeds fans. Couldn't stop myself cheering when Rochdale scored..Thought i was gonna get my head kicked in. But the Leeds fans were fantastic..very disappointed, but surprisingly friendly.

I'll catch the first half then before Derby play Wednesday.
£5 for your Northern Semi JPT at Wigan I see - think you'll take a decent following despite the form?
I have no firm idea, pal. I'll be going, with three mates. It's a fiver, it's fairly local. It's a no brainer for us. But judging by what I've read online I think we'll be low in numbers. I might be wrong. But I'd guess at maybe 300 to 500.
I can't wait. We've found a real ale pub that we're heading for, and we'll have good fun as always. The football, the 90 minutes is just a small part of the day really.
