Reporting restrictions were in place, he broke them once and was given a suspended sentence and warned that what he was doing could not be repeated. He did repeat it, broke the terms of the suspension of his sentence, admitted he was guilty, he’s in prison. Justice done. |
Only now catching up with all this - just got up from an eighth 12-hour night shift on the bounce and I’m slurring and reeling a bit like a drunk. I’m getting too old for this... 
Right then, a couple of things, the Huddersfield Examiner journalist Stephanie Finnegan (already cited on this thread) was on Radio 4 this morning and let something interesting slip. She was one of two ‘proper’ reporters outside of the court and was saying that prior to Tom commencing his streaming schtick he had enquired of the police present if he was “alright to crack on, this isn’t breaking any laws, is it?” Having been given the nod he was off and running. Now it was clear from the interview segment that Finnegan has about as much time for Tom as you do but she seemed to think there was something ‘off’ about the sequence of events.
Regardless of what anybody thinks of Tom or what they think he stands for to be arrested, charged and gaoled within the space of what, four to five hours speaks to me of Home Office orchestration and is reminiscent of one of two things: either a Field Court Martial or the Star Chamber, this isn’t modern due process as anybody knows it.
Stay away from central London on the 9th and 10th of June, love. It’s going to be bedlam up there, come home to visit Mam for a couple of days. |  |

At last someone else looking at it from a neutral down the middle viewpoint and not influenced by who he is rather than the events that happened. The last time I saw someone get arrested have a trial and be sentenced that quick I was watching Judge Dredd [Post edited 30 May 2018 15:29]

There’s something else happening here that seems a bit strange Tom is becoming the focal point for a lot of generalised working class resentment and frustration, I’m getting that just from conversations in work. It’s not a position he has sought nor particularly merits and not one he’s remotely capable of living up to. His isn’t the head the halo of fire should come to rest on.
A mass movement is beginning to coalesce without leadership and that has to be a first on these islands. Historically it has always been the other way around. You get the lone voice that starts to echo, then amplify. All we have now is a lot of angry shouting. | |

Robinson is a chancer gaming the system, he goes to jail for a few weeks and comes out several hundred thousand pounds richer because of increased avenue revenue on his YouTube account and donations from rich US alt-right groups. Heck, maybe even Lohengrin will send him a few quid.
Having fair trials is important, and this one could have been destroyed because of him.

I totally agree I’ve not spoken to anyone who thinks what’s happened is good. To be fair the way the establishment have been acting it was only a matter of time before people got pushed too far. |  | | |

He asked the cops if he was doing anything wrong and they said no, but minutes later he was arrested. It was irrelevant whether the officer knew about any previous offence, because he was arrested for breech of the peace, which a short while ago the officer said he hadn't commited | | | |
