where to sit recommendations 16:10 - Nov 24 with 2989 viewsmerseyhoop

As I live on the Wirral I do not often get down to watch a home game but as its a family weekend trip to London (gonna cost me a fortune) me and my 19 year old son are going the Preston game, looking for recommendations for where to sit , after decent view and atmosphere (not the Russ Abbot song). Also as he can now buy his dad a pint what are the best pubs before the game, I've been the C & S before.

Thanks in advance

Upper Loft mate, and try and get a end seat so you don’t have to watch the match between your knees, presuming you aren’t 4’6

Avoid the Defectors Weld/Adelaide unless you want to pay £6 a pint. The Crown and Sceptres a good shout, you may even get to meet NorthernR who lives in there I think !! They do lovely thai food.

Have your match tickets with you before entering a pub. Presuming you've got t'up north accents, some establishments require proof of support prior to entry and the twang may be a strike against ya.

Only £3.75 for a decent pint of Guinness in the White Horse, although a plastic glass doesn’t improve it.
Assuming you can get in the place to get served.

The Richmond is still a nice boozer and only 10 mins away from LR if you have long legs. It's cheaper compared to 'tachefest' too.

They even unboarded some of the windows fairly recently
