We always needed the threat of no deal, itâs the only thing that would bring the EU to the negotiating table. When the remainers held the power in parliament along with a biased and corrupt speaker no deal was effectively off the table. They would have just extended the deadline indefinitely. |  |

Well it was completed fairly quickly. They only started negotiating in February and itâs been delayed several times because of covid. Weâve been told by remainers from the start that deals like this take years but theyâve got it done in ten months. Itâs amazing what can be achieved when you are actually pressured by a deadline instead of kicking the can down the road. | |

Itâs amazing what can be achieved when over 80% of the UK economy isnât included but left as âwill deal with laterâ.
Plus the vast majority of what is included is exactly the same as was in the Political Declaration that was negotiated by May. The difference is that NI has been effectively made part of the Republic of Ireland.
It is what it is. Itâs far better to have a trade agreement in place, albeit one for goods only, (which by definition favours the EU given they export goods to us in return for us exporting services to them, which are not included) than attempt to negotiate one after the fact. No deal is a myth, unless anyone thought that we wouldnât agree a trade deal with our biggest trading partners - everyone saw what that would look like for a few days last week, hence the pressure on the U.K. negotiation team to just agree what was wanted by the EU on fisheries and the level playing field provisions.
Itâs completely pointless anyone still arguing over it. We just have to see what will play out, and hope that the drag on UK business of an enormous amount of additional red tape will be more than made up for by an ability to strike country specific deals elsewhere (which we donât have at this point - the deals in place are roll over deals from the EU).
Everyone, whatever they voted, needs to hope that it all settles down. People wanting failure to say âI told you soâ need to remember that a vibrant UK economy is needed by everyone.
One thingâs for sure. The Covid situation has made brexit far less important than it would have been without it. The shock to the system will make all else pale in to relative insignificance and new alliances and industries will emerge as they always do in such a situation. We have to hope the U.K. is able to capitalise. | | | |

I know loads of leavers and they wanted out, they did not want foreigners coming here, they did not want anything to do with the Germans, French, Latins, East Europeans etc, simple as that, they don't listen to politicians they just wanted out and now they have been betrayed as they would see it they are not out but half in and half out.
