Oh how 13:15 - Jul 4 with 2854 viewstodfest

Can someone please explain to me how such a series of events that are occurring be implemented so quickly and decisively in such a short space of time.Surely these people must be vetted in some way and prove to be fit for purpose before such a big step can be completed. This may already have been asked but there are far more intelligent people than me who knows more.
Do they have to prove they have the financial clout to sustain the well being of the club in the long run or is it they can just buy shares and see how it goes.
I still maintain the club was managed to fail so sharks like these people could buy on the cheap.
Thanks to all those who had the best interests of the club at heart, and thanks to you all for at least trying to give us a fighting chance.
Just emailed Tony Lloyd for what it's worth

All they need to do is hoover up the shares from those willing to sell. The other tests you refer to will only apply if the EFL are required to grant them the 'fit and proper person' status.

Fighting, searching and doing everything humanly possible is the only thing anyone can do. There are/will be many involved in that. We on the sidelines can only hope there is an outcome that can be secured as opposed to the current likely scenario. Please.

For interest, this is on the net. Quite a lot of technical jargon which goes above my head, but it might give you an insight.

Worth resurrecting this thread of 4th July based on the more recent post by todfest. That 4th July one view of todfest was equally gloomy!

Just six weeks after this OP, on 16th August 2021 the EFL launched disciplinary proceedings into all those connected with Morton House.

https://www.efl.com/news/2021/august/efl-statement-rochdale-afc2/

The EFL's investigators have asked those the difficult questions on "financial clout" and well, having asked a couple of difficult questions "Morton House MGT, its directors, and representatives, have confirmed to the League they are refusing to co-operate with the League’s ongoing investigations. Despite these developments, the EFL will be continuing with its disciplinary investigations into this matter and will take the most appropriate action available to it under its Regulations."

Whichever way you might want to look at it Morton House running away from the EFL can't be anything other than a positive step.

"Refusing to cooperate". That is a strong term used by the EFL and that must be because the evidence the EFL has to ask their questions is direct and conclusive and that Morton House have simply not answered the questions.

The EFL has to sign off on Morton House under its own rules.

What has transpired in the last six months is the knowledge of "an inside job". The Trust met with Curran in July 2021 and Southall in October 2021.

The data indiscretions of Alexander Jarvis are well known. Jarvis doxxed Andy Curran to Ben Rumsby of the Daily Telegraph on 5th August 2021 where the "hostile takeover" was admitted to.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/05/efl-investigating-homophobic-slu

"Curran did not respond to requests for comment after the claims against him were put to him via text message.

That followed a bizarre phone call with Telegraph Sport in which he said he had “nothing to do with Rochdale”.

The call nevertheless prompted a WhatsApp message from Alexander Jarvis, who described himself as an adviser to what he admitted was a “hostile takeover” and said that Curran was “a bit of a recluse”."

It's then transpired that a meeting on 29th April 2021 between Jarvis, Curran and Southall and representatives of the club was held at the club that so many people witnessed that the question we would all love to ask is "Was this the plan all along lads?"

Fat Pat of the Wilbutts Lane Chippy will provide to be our saviour and all because one of the party turned his nose up at one of Fat Pat's Big Chip Barms. Fat Pat runs the show up there and she has turned from being a big fan of the old regime to realising what a disaster has been averted.

If Fat pat had not grassed Southall, Curran, Jarvis and Bottomley up then they might have just got away with it.

Someone has been telling the EFL whoppers.

Over to them I suppose and I have no doubt given Charlton, Derby County, Bury, Macclesfield and other failures they will throw the book at individuals found to be breaking their rules or as more colloquially "taking the p*ss"

And somewhat ironic that ultimately, it ended up with us enjoying our very own (belated) Independence Day.
