Two years into their ownership, it’s been a fantastic learning curve for them in the world of football. Now, I believe we’re set to take a big step forward. There’s a strong chance we bring in someone better than Jim, to deliver the ambitions for this club.
I hope the Directors help draw a line under this with a statement pretty quick and keep momentum going, bringing in new fans on the back of an epic season.
Hopefully its a shrewd decision made on a Manager thats better than Jim, as we should be getting improvements in all positions, for a new era and successful season. It might be he's a success at Stockport but it may be above his limit. The 'peter principle' like Hilly experienced.
Anyway. Buying my season ticket this weekend and can't wait for the season to start whoever is in charge.
Yes deffo, he's not a moaner cos of his lack of starts and takes it in his stride with a smile. A great team player. He does add that quality with weighted deliveries and tackling. He's not just coming on to replace a knackered player; he gives the team a boost.
I thought the standard wasn't too bad. Both teams had some big, fast, fit players who could do damage and dispossess a smaller side, however. Regarding skills, teamwork, and tactical positioning, I thought Dale could easily outmanoeuvre both teams and definitely hold their own against them.
Just watched the highlights back from Wembley, and we have quality in our squad to compete in League 2. Singling out Petit, he has shown calibre. That delivery for the second goal at Wembley was a peach. His screamer against Eastleigh, this guy hasn't really put a foot wrong. I'd like to see him with more game time next season.
Now there's Academy funding, it must be an amazing moment, for those young players offered places and a contract, but only if we got up. I know of a couple of pleased young youngsters signing a two year contract with the academy.
I think a good call, makes sense rather than an opentop coach through dales industrial mellor street like last time. Ill be down there to give the lads an applause. Up the dale league 2!!! So glad were up and its almost sunk in now. So glad to leave that division behind. Just looked at hornchurches ground. Its another running track type. But, looking at league two next year...so many established league opponents to lock horns with.
Hope the WIFI's a decent signal strength, or if possible wheel you to a spot with decent reception. Com'on Dale get stuck in, give us a lift this back holiday weekend.
Last year's disappointments should make us stronger for tomorrow, and I believe the slow starting suppressed performances, in last years massive games - the playoffs and Cup Semi games, will be carved in the players and managment teams psyche and will use this. Support team will get them ready. Only bad luck, and injury will stop us tomorrow.
Really looking forward to Sunday, win, lose have a booze, it's been a great season. Personally, I'm not bothered about Scunthorpe's ticket distribution issues and all that slosh, but thinking ahead to hopefully a great game on Sunday.
I think the players are going to be buzzing and up for it . 20 odd points above Scunthorpe, we've got great form no need to be tentative, carry on from that hard-working performance from last Saturday.
Our hard working players can see us over the line. Sh1t or bust nothing to lose.
Changes I'd like to see: Barlow replace Rodney, that's the only change. Bring on more firepower later, Rodney, Goat, Pritchard and Smith
The ref was pretty shite, I like a ref that lets the game flow, but this guy ignored too much—pushing, pulling and ragging of shirts. The physical teams would love this ref.
But....it's a disadvantage to those who want to play. Probably teams like us.
If that was a prem game, there would have been a few penalties and loads of yellows. I know its lower league..however, the standards are getting better, refs' attitudes should move with the times.
