The advantage of getting a PL referee is that they come with PL assistants, as, like in the EFL, the officials come in 'teams', so referees only ever work with a limited number of different assistants.

I believe its both PL and Championship - could be lower.
Think they are grouped into teams of 3 referees and 6 assistants - something like that.
Idea being you work with people you know, so can allow for their dodgy eyesight/decision making - the last part of that may not be QUITE 100% accurate!   |

I don't blame Stroud for our cup exit......AR was the fault there.
