Saints Arrange Insulting Friendly on 23:39 - Jun 27 by saintmark1976 | Nick, what on earth are you talking about ? Quite simply, Jason Wilcox is an employee of Sports Republic hence logically he acts on their behalf and ultimately they ( Sports Republic ) are indeed arranging the fixture. |
Do you think that Sport Republic of for that matter any professional football club owners at this level really get involved in arranging pre season friendlies. Yes Jason Wilcox is an employee of Sport republic, so is the person who sells you a new replica shirt in the club shop, or the programme sellers outside the ground and the lady who makes the tea in the refreshment kiosks. So by your logic Sport republic are responsible if the girl in the shop inadvertently gives you the wrong size shirt, a programme seller doesn't have the right change and you get a cup of tea at half time that has no sugar in it. Sport Republic are now getting new people in place to run the different areas of the club, they don't get involved in every little nitty gritty. John Henry at Liverpool wont ask to be kept informed if Liverpool are going to play Preston pre season and the Man City owner only went to his first game in the Champions League final recently. Like it or not football is big business these days, So yes Jason Wilcox is a de facto employee of Sport Republic as Director of Football for Southampton FC, but he will have a remit to what he can and cant do without consultation with SR. Do you really think there was a phone call that went " Hey Henrik Ive got that Jason Wilcox on the line" "What does he want" "Wants to know whether he can arrange us to play Bournemouth on the 28th at St Mary's" " FFS yes he can" "He wants to know whether you want any tickets"

Nick, for reasons best known only to yourself and with the greatest of respect, you are just being silly now. You know full well how any company be they private or P L C functions. Ultimately any decision Jason Wilcox makes on behalf of S F C ( and Sports Republic as owners of S F C ) during the course of his employment is exactly that, a decision made for them, not for Jason Wilcox himself. Reference your comments concerning shirts and cups of tea. Let’s pursue your line of thought to a conclusion. Should you be unfortunate enough to injure yourself at St Mary’s due say to negligence by Mr Wilcox acting as an employee of S F C and ultimately Sports Republic. Who would you sue for compensation? That’s right, your solicitor would take out an action on your behalf by issuing proceedings jointly against S F C and Sports Republic, naming Mr Wilcox as their employee. Unless your solicitor didn’t know his or her job they most certainly wouldn’t sue Mr Wilcox alone would they?

Saints Arrange Insulting Friendly on 12:49 - Jun 27 by dirk_doone | "I would suggest that this is not Sport Republic arranging this, but the new director of football Jason Wilcox who without knowing the issues..." So, basically, they don't know what they're doing. |

Fair play to you Nick in acknowledging that on this occasion I was correct. I appreciate that. Reference using a stick to beat Sport Republic. Come on fella, there are many other better opportunities, starting with them getting us relegated. However, as you have previously stated, let’s look forward and hope that as long standing Saints fans next season gives us both something to be happy about.
