tossers
It’s SMS not Glastonbury - whatever you do, don’t mention the Mexican Wave to the phone wavers…. Not as if it was a bad game where people were bored and therefore easily distracted.

It’s not as bad as the noddy goal music
Agreed. I fecking hate that Pavlovian happy-clappy dance shit. Let’s just celebrate the event - with no VAR to suck the life out of the moment. Tossers.

We finally get to celebrate a goal without VAR and the club decide to ruin it with this. Knobheads

Sorry mate, i've got to disagree with you here.
Anything that gets the old fookers up clapping and cheering, or more accurately even older than me fookers up clapping and cheering has got to be encouraged.
You celebrate how you want and let everyone else celebrate how they want.
I hate the grounds where you just get a polite applause when the home team score.
I want to see the passion when we score. I love it.

I always thought the old fookers celebrated anyway?
Yes, celebrate how you want, but I certainly don't need to hear that hackneyed noddy dance to enjoy the thrill of a Saints goal. Does it really take that to stimulate passion, or is it just another example of the club assuming that's what we need?
Just like those awful clacking things they used to dish out for some matches. What next, free face painting and wigs for all?

Out of interest, what is your goal celebration ?
I jump up grab my son throw him in the air and just enjoy the moment, I don’t need a noddy song that makes everyone do the awful football dance, it’s sh!te but I suppose the new fan gimps love it

Unfortunately not everybody shares your enthusiasm and a lot need some encouragement.

Fair enough, I can’t understand it myself but each to there own but not really as it’s fooking up my celebration, maybe give headphones to the fans who need goal music and they can have a silent disco celebration without ruining others fun.

I'm loving your responses on this Cockle.
Nick's earlier article on the '76 Semi-Final made me think of the wild and spontaneous goal celebrations that day and the pre-fabricated, contrived bollocks needed now to Stoke(s) passion..

I’m picturing Pompey get promoted we play them score and the whole ground is doing the gimp dance, it’ll be up there with mauled by the tigers.
Actually this won’t happen as they’ll choke again.
OK gents, there seems to be a difference of opinion on the noddy music so perhaps in the best traditions of Pat what would be your top three tunes to walk out to pre match and your top three tunes for goal celebrations?
For the life of me, I cannot remember where this was, and I don't think it involved Saints, I remember one Club using the instrumental version of Alice Deejay's Better off Alone pre-match, not an obvious choice, it got put on about two mins before the teams came out and in less that 30 seconds almost everyone was up on their feet clapping along, there is a de-escalation about 2 mins in where the stadium announcer did his bit as the teams came out and it then pumps back up again. Have to say I was quite impressed by the crowd's reaction to what was not the most obvious choice of pre-match music - and I'm not suggesting it would be right for SMS, but it certainly did the job, just wish I could remember where it was... There are different versions of it out there, this is about he closest from memory

Top 3 tunes to walk out to:
1. The Saints are Coming - The Skids 2. OWTS - Fats Domino 3. Something Good - Utah Saints
