The goal where they broke away (as opposed to offered up by JS) was a disgrace. It was clear from the moment they broke, even in their own half that there was no cover. The guy ran from inside his own half into the penalty area, unchallenged. JS simply watched it happen whilst jogging back to the goal. Just like two relegations ago. |

Bielsa wasn’t charged because he didn’t breech an FA regulation wrt his position. The club was fined, but Bielsa opted to pay the fine on their behalf.
The FA cannot ignore the offence committed by Eckert as it was a breech of specific regulations now in force, and actually, he personally has not been punished in any way despite admitting the breeches. The FA will have to impose some kind of punishment, but I’m guessing it will be a fine, match ban or a combination. The club will not be able to claim double jeopardy, because they, ans an entity are not being punished again. |

Nine of the last thirty two teams have scored an average of one goal or less for the three qualifying group games. Ghana is one of them. A horrible indication of 1960s Italian football in the case of them, Hopeless over representation of poor national teams for the rest. As to the ones going home, all 3rd raters. This surely is not good for football, but un doubtedly good for the sleazy Infantino. |

How are we punished 10x the Everton fine? We were stopped from playing in the Playoff Final before it took place. How can anyone calculate the loss from a one off game that we didn’t participate in, and might have lost in any event? Especially given how close the games with Middlesbrough were, and they lost in the final,
Southampton were caught breaking the rules, with the intention of gaining an advantage by doing so. That is cheating by any definition. It’s time our fans stopped moaning about it. If there is any anger, it should be towards the perpetrators. If we are OK with Tonda Eckert remaining in post, then it is time to shut up. |

It is not the World Cup as we know it. It isn’t about the football, It’s about money, and the way that it is distributed is no less corrupt than under Sepp Blatter. I may watch some England games, but probably not. I hope this tournament will serve as a warning to those greedy Euro clubs and Euefa. |

This is why trials in the USA go through the circus of jury selection, which is actually focussed on biasing the Selections in favour of whichever party you are representing. For all the good Eckert has done for the club, his actions have more than undone that. I don’t think the decision will be in the club’s hands anyway, but given the rules he has broken, with what was always going to be massive consequences whether sporting or financial, gross misconduct would seem to be a formality, and the sooner the better to begin the process of replacing him. I am gutted that he has done this, as his managerial capabilities are exceptional. |

I agree that he was not equipped to do the job, a truly shockingly poor appointment. His personality and behavioural characteristics certainly compounded his problems, and the gobbledegook he came out with was guaranteed to cause a loss of respect. |
