I am not sure it can be concluded that we are ‘one of the better footballing sides in the division’. Obviously it depends on the definition of what makes a good side.
Good sides score more goals than the opposition, good sides keep clean sheets, good sides are hard to beat. Good footballing sides create chances Xg, shots on target, touches in the opposition box. We are lacking in all these departments. Whether this is down to coaching or the players we will soon find out.
Dominating possession, having more passes than the opposition, playing at walking pace, giving away possession easily does not make us a good footballing side. Many opposition managers say we are a good side when they have just beaten us. We are where we are, to say we are a good footballing side is grossly distorting the facts, the league table does not lie. [Post edited 23 Nov 13:09]

Maybe it's blind ignorance. But I am still in the camp that we are far better aided than what we are showing and O Dea specifically needs to take alot accountability for our downfall. Maybe I'm wrong.
But we have players on paper that are gems. And we have seen glimpses.

Whilst I desperately wanted Sheehan to succeed the results and level of performances were below what many expected and the time was right for him to go. He seems like a decent chap so I hope he gets another gig soon and proves to be successful.
Other than a revamp of the backroom, a possible change of tactics etc, the other beauty of bringing a new manager in now is that I highly suspect he'll have been given some assurances of players he can bring in during the next window. So with what is already a pretty decent squad (which should be doing better) can now become even better.
Playoffs are probably unlikely now (assuming it's going to take Matos at least 6-8 games to find a sort of rhythm) but not impossible. Let's all get behind him and the team and see how high we can finish before talking of playoffs again next season 😁 | | | |

Well I for one am excited with Matos arrival.
Always felt the squad was far better than the tune AS was getting from them.
His slow build up play bored the life out of me tbh.
If Vitor brings in some heavy metal type football, that he was coaching
@ L’pool under Klopp, I’m certain he will get us going given time. He may also
be able to open up the door to a few loans/transfers from Liverpool where he
knows all the younger players.
Yes the future looks bright, we just need to get behind him & most importantly
