They are looking to raise extra capital to purchase the stadium from the council. I wonder if this is part of the overall plan to achieve that?
I may be wrong, but purchasing the stadium goes down as an infrastructure cost and is not taken into consideration for PSR purposes, so they wouldn't need "investment" to do it. They could just do it.
Ditto going back to Cat 1 status.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Exactly neither come under PSR. If you can afford to pay £300M for the post office tower and mothball it you can afford to buy the stadium.

Should shut a few up. All this Matos was a last minute appointment after Hellberg. Fact is he was approached before Hellberg according to a contact in Portugal. And I suppose if anyone has the nuts, ask Gorringe.
Let’s remember who brought Matos in and who identified him.
Risca summed it up on Phils site, I totally agree, a good bloke he is too.
About time this was said. The amount of BS merchants hovering around ready to do him and Gorringe’s ill are not Swansea City supporters, they are anonymous cowards. Jealous morons who are so pathetic they hide behind made up names , one who bangs his gums on Phils site was a big part of the reason SCFC2 forum folded, but that’s for later on. He’s too thick to see it. So we will be reminding him and his rat brigade when it’s the most inconvenient time for him. About time fans really spoke up about how they feel. Spot on RISC.

Recruitment hasn't been a weakness this summer, so the need to continually bang the "analyst" drum because people didn't like his debating methods on a forum a while back is becoming tiresome.
We were at the bare bones in the summer, our captain had jumped ship, i think we had one senior CB here, contracts had been let to run down.
We've signed:
Melker Widell - Good player now starting regularly Ethan Galbraith - One of the best in league imo. Marko Stamenic - Quality #6 Ishe Samuels Smith - Good immediate cover, what he's been brought in for. Kaelan Casey - Good immediate cover, what he's been brought in for.
Manuel Benson (loan) - not worked out ❌ Malick Yalcouye (loan) - good player clearly, had his moments but not done enough, shame as i thought he was a banker ❌
Adam Idah - can’t say he’s worked out or not as Vipi has been on fire and he's played a bit part. Decent goals to minutes though.
Zeidane Inoussa - looks our most dangerous winger but still adapting to the league.
Farman - 3rd choice GK, what he's here for. Santos - 4th choice CB, what he's here for. Wales - signed for the future
How long has it been since we've had some actual assetts, now we have, in one summer, it's not perfect but it's a start of fixing years of neglect.
The sheehan saga was a mistake, which was funnily enough made under Montague's watch who everyone said was the saviour, we've replaced with a Swans type appt in Matos, where early signs are promising.
At the moment, I think people, especially on the forums unfortunately, are dreading a nightmare scenario of us being successful under people they have personal issues with over an internet forum, quite sad.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

It depends how you look at it. All IMO.
Galbraith excellent Widell good Stamenic good
Samuels-Smith Benson Casey Yalcouye All loans and none starting 11.
Idah Inoussa Lets wait and see at the moment I'm not convinced.
Wales For the future, but do we have better in Wilson and Nzingo.
Benson [not included above] Very hit and miss IMO plays better when he just defends and gives the ball to Cabango, shocking with his feet.
So for the window on a whole I would give it a 7 out of 10 and promised so much more.

Idah and Inoussa, your thoughts I'm not convinced. Burgess not included in the original appraisal?
I'm not long term convinced on Idah, but I also think that there's a player there if the talent can be unlocked. He could go either way.
I like what I've seen in Inoussa, but the way we've played for much of the season doesn't help him. We need to get the ball forward much faster if we're going to do that.
Burgess has been so so. No worse than Cabango for the most part, but unfortunate to be on the receiving end of some shitty luck in terms of OG's which some people seem to think he's doing deliberately.
In terms of the thread in general, I make no apologies for having concerns about the suitability of certain individuals for holding positions of power within the club based on their past conduct. I'm prepared to give them a chance, but a wary one.

Lets be honest, tske Galbraith out of the equation how would you rate the window. In my opinion the starting 11 has not been greatly improved on last season. We can't judge the recruitment team on one player.

We can either decide that Sheehan was the problem, in which case the players deserve some leeway, or that the players were the problem and Sheehan shouldn't have been sacked. As Sheehan was sacked then the players earn a little time to see what Matos can do with them.
I've seen bits and bobs from basically all of them other than Benson to make me think that there's talent there.

Don’t agree Keith We all want to do well Some forums see individuals always wanting to be proven right
We need to stick the fork together
We are a modest club and can’t afford this schism in support And people who can’t or won’t get to games can still offer opinions without being hounded

It’s about the club not about who is right
i can guarantee pelters after this
You can get to games. You choose not to. Yet still spout forth like you actually support the club.
Disgusting.

We still need to find the money to buy the stadium. The petty cash tin isn't that big! So it's either raise capital or a mortgage. It is outside PSR, so that doesn't come into the equation.
For me its early days , after watching an half tonight where was playing a certain MG , who in his first few games for us played like the christmas donkey/ass, who has gone on to be immense. only time will tell with what we have atm.

I always though MG was a decent player who I believe because of the focus on stats by too many managers rather than how the game was being played was allowed to play within himself and with it pedestrian and safe .Look at who's managing him now ,when of Englanda' best midfield player of recent times maybe we're now seeing that reflected in how MG now plays.

The owners have enough money to buy the stadium ten times over and some, they nor the club need to raise any money to buy the stadium. Because it is outside PSR both the stadium and the academy can have as much money spent on it as the owners like without repercussions. There is no delay in any prospective purchase it is just following the normal purchase negotiations that takes time when you buy anything from local council. I don't know how long negotiations have been going on, but from personal experience it can easily take a year or more.

The influence if Sheehan and his team was probably the main factor as whilst much has been discussed about the new players it seems firgitten how players like Cabango ,Franco and not least of all Key had gone backwards this season.

I'd be curious to know more about the process of re-acquiring Cat 1 status. Obviously the facilities are already in place, but I'd imagine that there are certain certifications and assurances that take time to sign off, even if we're just putting back into place what existed before.

I think the Matos statement "we have to build a team" is the most telling. It's all well and good having talented individuals but if they don't gel you don't have a team. We could all see for a while that on the pitch we were disjointed with no clear plan. Possibly by removing a very good player and inserting another not quite as good we could end up with a better team on the pitch. Not all our players are disciplined enough to follow team instructions, sometimes when when we see the team sheet or substitutions and wonder why this player is in and this player is out we need to trust the coaching team. Our best 11 players is not necessarily our best team.
