| NSR: Set pieces on 14:07 - Mar 3 with 542 views | Whiterockin | Referees have become lazy as well as incompetent. They expect VAR to continually bail them out in the Premier League and the incompetence is is knocking on down from there. The penalty area anything goes it is unbelievable, shirt pulling is now an acceptable part of the game an foul throws go unpunished. I won't even discus blatant cheating. | | | |

Agreed Even after a ref stops play and “ warns” them , they go back and carry on It’s simply farcical Going off at a tangent , it’s not unlike excreable rugby referees warning front rows then take no notice , whilst the scrum half puts the ball directly at the feet of the second rows It might as well be Leeds Rhinos v Hull KR

| NSR: Set pieces on 14:41 - Mar 3 with 509 views | heatwave | It's out of hand now. There will probably a remit at the start of the season to clamp down on it. Within 2 months it will become the norm again. | | | |

It's quite simple really. Take the captains to one side and tell them anymore and it will be a yellow card and a free kick/penalty and stick to it.

Yes it's as simple as you say. Not one of the refs are doing anything about it. I haven't watched local leagues for 30+ years. Does it happen at that level?

How there wasn't a handball against Rice i'll never know, also Raya given cartblanche to punch an position player in the head and no penalty given again. Crazy.

| NSR: Set pieces on 10:36 - Mar 4 with 223 views | pembsjack | Although it's 100% a foul and needs punishing any penalties would be controversial in the moment. It's too easy for refs to hide behind VAR on these type of calls if VAR clamped down and ended up dishing out a few penalties, it would soon clear up. | | | |
| NSR: Set pieces on 11:21 - Mar 4 with 210 views | RodgerTheDodger | The problem is that the rules have become unenforceable. 12 players in the six yard box at a corner - who thinks they could sort out who's doing what? I would support two changes: 1. After the referee blows the whistle to take the kick, he can penalize any infringements he sees before the ball is kicked. 2. Players may not put their hands on another player nor position their arms to encircle him. | | | |

The FA should just go back to the old ways The pulling and wrestling would be given as a foul anywhere else on the field so give it as fouls at corners Defenders would stop so as not to concede penalties and attackers would stop to not lose a scoring opportunity Frankly it’s farcical and spoiling the game
| NSR: Set pieces on 12:12 - Mar 4 with 176 views | KeithHaynes | Got it 🙄 The fouling before a set piece is taken needs to be managed by the referee. Arsenal waste 4-5 minutes a game at set pieces. Just let the infringement go until he can award something either way ? | |

nothing worse than a referee stopping play to speak to a few random players at a corner only for them to run back into their spot and carry on pushing and pulling.

Totally agree, Just let them get on with it and then penalise the offence as the ref sees it when the ball leaves the takers foot.
