Nick it doesn't matter how many times you say we had a strong squad at the start of the season, it's still not true! The squad now is unrecognisable from what we had available for the first half of the season. Tonda has done a fantastic job but we wouldn't be here without the squad changes we've made.
Peretz, Bree and Larin speak for themselves (any recognition yet that we needed to swap Baz out?). But Downes, Stewart and Edozie were unavailable for most of the first half of the season and Bragg was nothing like the player he is now. Bragg made an uncertain start in October playing in central midfield alongside Jack because all the other options were all out injured. Take out those 7 players who've effectively been added to the squad and it would look weak again.
Any squad that has to choose between Baz and AM in goal, or AA and Damion Downs at no. 9 can never be described as strong in my book. In the 2 most important positions we were flat out weak. | | | |
