Yes, it got us a day out at Wembley but had we got maximum points from the Bristol City and Ipswich league games immediately before and after our defeat by Man City we would have been automatically promoted.
Always assuming of course that the clubs other than Middlesbrough didn’t come forward to expose our previous cheating.
As it now stands we have created an unmitigated catastrophe for ourselves both in footballing and P R terms which will take years if ever to recover from.
Short of the Owners and Sports Republic selling the club I can’t see a way back for us to recover our reputation and a sale is highly unlikely given that our book value must have been severely reduced by yesterday’s revelations. |  |

Hiya mate - I think many of us are finding it difficult to process this 'trauma'. I keep telling myself that we're not being bombed by Putin or starving in some hell-hole, and nobody's died. It , of course, doesn't help in the short term and those of us who are getting on a bit haven't got as many long-terms as we used to have.
I comfort myself by saying that I recover quickly from Saints catastrophes. Yes, this will f*ck us up for a while but the bunch of stupid people who caused it will be sacked and there will be a kick off at 3pm some time in August. Spygate will be fish and chip paper soon and, coincidentally, "Same old Arsenal Always Cheating" wasn't an issue for them yesterday. The one thing I regret in retrospect is that SR didn't sack those involved as soon as they knew about it.
I hope we are back again on TUI next season agreeing, most of the time. At least MBoro's relegation struggles will be a pick-me-up. As for now I am NOT going online for the rest of the day - alright, maybe once at 6pm to get the appeal failure confirmed!!
Oh - almost forgot - don't let anyone take the Fulham, Arsenal and Man City games away from you. I reckon the Bristol City match was as much a "due a poor performance" thing than anything else. We were sh1te in one or two other games in the long run, particularly Norwich, and rode our luck. So I will keep the cup and forget the league (Once the anger wears off of course).. | | | |

Also there was no guarantee that we would have beaten Hull, they've already beaten us twice this season.
If that was the case, what have we lost.
1) 4 point deduction for next season.
2) most of our best players will be sold
