Though another way of looking at it is that Brodie is on a bigger than average wage (he was a very prolific goalscorer when Crawley took him from York) but he's not more recently scored many at L2 level.
Also reported today is that Barnet have signed Jon Nurse (a striker who managed 8 goals last season) from Dagenham. It seems that even modest goalscorers are being snapped up (like Tranmere taking JLAA) - so where will JC find someone who knows where the goals are?
Last summer I wasn't sorry to see Harrad go to bury, despite rumours of Dale's interest. He managed 5 goals (3 on loan at Rotherham). But now I'm attracted by the notion - mentioned on another thread - that Dale might go for him. (If the bid for Grant was £20k, that for Harrad will probably be about £10k.) |  | | |

Lee Trundle is trialling with PNE at the moment and has impressed so far (admittedly against non-league teams) but they can't offer him anything yet due to budgetary constraints - I imagine they've got to move a couple on before they can bring any more in. Yes, he's 35 and not getting any younger, but he could be worth a look.

Can't argue with Trundle's goalscoring record, or the fact he is scouse.
He also has this aura about him that endears him to fans (rkershaw would have to write an album for him).
Personally, I wouldn't be put off by his age as long as he is fit, as the quality is there (much like Steve Howard who I would have loved to have had at Rochdale).

Hasn't Trundle been playing in the Welsh League? It must be down to PNE having too many players rather than Trundle's wage demands, surely?

Trundle would be a great signing at our level if he doesn't want silly money.
One of the most naturally gifted players I've seen live when he was at Chorley. Then Dale boss Graham Barrow was at one game and claimed Trundle would never make it at league level. |  |

If Putterill is fit and his head is straight then he will tear League 2 a new arsehole - FACT.
When he played for us at STanley he was shit hot for the first two months, then he got a 2 month ban (or summat like that) for playing against Tranmere whilst under a Scouseland ban having been sent off in a pub game in August.
(or summat like that). When he was available again he wasn't fit and the side was winning week in week out, he couldn't get a look in really. Coley fired him off to get fit and told him that if he sorts himself out then he has a place nailed on, but he didn't or couldn't get fit.
Seriously, if he and Coley are still on talking terms then he must have got himself straight, and he is your hidden gem this year. Coley will have to work on him every week to keep him loved and playing well but he is a cracker when he wants to be.
the earlier poster was right that his screamer was against Newcastle, but most Stanley fans will remember him for the way that he single handedly ripped a decent Oldham side to pieces in the FA Cup.
