Anyone seen his goal yesterday ?? He scored with a header when he was found from a corner into a crowded box. Something we cannot do .Find a player with a corner or cross.

Nice header.

About 56 minutes in on BBC iplayer:

I'd agree that, for his development, Hitchcock would be better served playing 90 mins for Crewe in L1, rather than an occasional 10 minute cameo for us in the Championship. But, given the alternative striking options, I think he should be back here sharpish.

Unless HR is going to sign 3 young(ish), fully fit, prolific strikers in January.

When Steve Gallen was on Open All R's a couple of weeks ago he seemed very cautious about whether the players who are coming through are ready for the first team. Obviously it's better for them to be playing regularly in League One than sitting on the bench in the Championship.

Crewe boss Steve Davis' thoughts on our Tom...

Davis was also enthused by the performance of Hitchcock as the QPR loanee notched his third goal in five Alex games to complete the turnaround.

The 21-year-old has led the line manfully in his short time at the club and has certainly impressed the Crewe management.

"Tom comes alive in the box and he could have had a hat-trick on Sunday," said Davis.

"He had a volley in the first half and was then onto a back pass, but from an acute angle he couldn't get it past the covering defender on the line.

"He has pulled off his man at the corner to the far post and headed home the winner. He is a threat and been terrific for us with his goals. Scoring three goals in his loan spell, you cannot ask for any more from him."
