Step forward our own Mark Hateley. Ask to provide thoughts on BBC Radio Scotland about Rangers' exit from the Champions League, this was his incisive and to the point insight
When you compare that to Rob Dickie or Yoann Barbet, who' are such intelligent, thoughtful footballers. Night and day. (Not saying our other players aren't too but I've just heard both interviewed recently and so impressed by them).

Enjoy. It's the Apres Match crew, with Frank Stapleton hosting the interview.
i always thought apre match was right at the top of the cringe mountain, rubbing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Mrs Brown's Boys. Delighted it was axed

I blame the ridiculous obligation to only have ex players as pundits and the other scourge that applies to almost all media, the compulsion to only have well known names. Can't they find other pundits, perhaps journalists or experienced coaches who can communicate an intelligent, concise analysis of a game? It can't be that difficult.
Not defending him but if you transcribe most conversations, they look like this. It's not an easy job, but that's why i agree with the above that TV companies should look further than ex-pros. On another note, I love that Lee Sharpe tells a story that at Leeds Hately was known as 'Topper' in that, you tell an anecdote, he'd always have one that topped it. He used to hate that nickname, so don't ever use it. ;)
Bare bones.

You're much too kind. It's gibberish. There's no cohesion and he doesn't make one salient or thoughtful point. He sounds like someone who's never been on radio before and is simply babbling through nervousness.
