Certainly playing well for a man whose legs have gone. |

If you're unable to control the speed of your car to the extent that you would certainly fail a test, I can't really see why you would expect to be able to continue driving. |

Raheem Sterling is not ever going to play in the Championship. Ridiculous notion. |

If what you say is correct then it would just be a free transfer. Dave report is just that, a report. It's not a legal document. So I'm reading 'deal' as synonymous with fee. And what would be the motive for this subterfuge? Nobody would be complaining about Frey leaving on a free. Sometimes things are simply what they appear to be. But since no public comment on QPR evades close scrutiny, perhaps Dave can clarify. |

An awful lot of work being put in to making Dave Mc wrong. If it's a fee, it's a fee. None of the purported chicanery really makes sense. |

Absolutely right. Look at how frequently English managers win the Premier League. |
 | Forum Reply | Three-game weeks at 18:44 26 Jan 2026
Is the three game week* metric for managerial appointments based on something someone from the club has stated, or has it just been inferred or imagined? *Saturday-midweek-Saturday is actually a week plus two hours assuming same time kick-offs for the Saturday games. [Post edited 26 Jan 18:46]

We're 12th, let's sack the manager. That should fix it. |

True story...I once found myself lounging at a party at Ice's Star Island gaff. He was shooting hoops out front. It was all quite sedate as I recall. |
 | Forum Reply | Four minutes of injury time at 13:10 25 Jan 2026
Exactly right. Ten professional footballers at this level should be able to defend for four minutes to see out a game. |

It wasn't Mbengue's fault we decided to defend like tarts and let them have as much space as they liked to ponce around outside our box like it was a dressage display. I mean, we've played against ten men for hours in the last few seasons without scoring, you'd think we'd have picked up a few tips by now. [Post edited 24 Jan 18:55]

Unrealistic expectations? We've been in this division for 25 of the last 30 seasons. Out of those 25, we've finished in the top 6 twice and between 8th and 10th, what, three times? The rest of it has been shades of mediocre punctuated by frequent flirts with relegation during which we've played some very much less than optimal football bar the odd Richard Langley free kick, Akos Buzsaky thunderbolt and Eze flourish. We're the team that lost twice to Swindon during their sole season in the top flight. We lost to Vauxhall Motors in the FA Cup. More recently we've lost 6-1 to relegated Blackpool and achieved the heady feat of losing three times in one season to relegated Peterborough. Even when we went up one season we managed to lose 4-1 to Scunthorpe, who - yes you've got the theme - were relegated. So what are your expectations? If they fail to take account of all of the above, they aren't realistic. All that said, even I'm not entirely sure it explains our current abject failure to find a teammate with a functional pass and move into space to receive a functional pass while retaining possession, all things that Stoke managed while looking like a team playing at a higher level. |

Ideal for a team managed by Wayne Rooney, who's always looked 5-10 years older than his actual age. |

You've inferred something that wasn't there. There are many ways a player can impose himself on and dominate a game, I've never seen Madsen do it in any way. |

It's the threshold of evidence for all civil litigation in England & Wales. It would be absurd for the higher criminal case threshold to apply in football disciplinary process because the penalties don't justify it. |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen at 18:58 21 Jan 2026
Somewhat hyperbolic. Much improved, yes, one of the first names on the teamsheet, certainly. But he needs to impose himself on and dominate games on a regular basis like Barry Bannan used to before we can lavish this kind of praise on him. |

In most professions, POTUS excepted, a rap sheet like that would see you out of a job. But football, no, you can score goals lad, so crack on with being the biggest dick you can. |
