Found this gem of British TV on you tube, possibly one the best football films ever made
Dave Ticer Thomas in the film was a tricky winger who ran The Swiss Lads ragged. Also they had his character in the film as a keen botanist much like our own Dave Thomas(winger not publisher)
The Dave Ticer Thomas in the story was in fact the grandfather of our Dave Thomas. He used to coach Dave as a youngster and taught him how to cross with both feet.

The film is very good, but not entirely historically accurate. The remarkable, true story is covered in Martin Connolly's book "The Miners Triumph" within which Ticer Thomas features.
