| Leicester - PSV 08:53 - Apr 8 with 2242 views | slmrstid | I went to this game last night, first time I've been to the King Power in a while. Went with a couple of Leicester mates, as to be fair a European QF in my home city against a big name is worth going to watch. Observations... 1. I was impressed by the standard of refereeing - let the game flow, got pretty much every call spot on (although City possibly got away with one penalty shout, although it was at the other end of the pitch to me so hard to tell), none of the histrionics or inconsistencies we associate with the Championship chumps every week 2. Sh*thousery, or lack of. Even though PSV basically played for the 0-0 the entire game, they did it by simply being defensively solid and closing Leicester down, rather than timewasting and spoiling. I daresay a standard Championship game set at 0-0 with 20 minutes to go, if not sooner as we have seen numerous times this year, would have seen the away side infuriating everyone by wasting every possible second. There was arguably one occasion toward the end of the game where a PSV player tried it by claiming cramp, then after the ref made him go off he then played for a good portion of time before waving the player back on, so that might have made them think twice about trying it again. 3. The game itself - apart from the first 10 minutes when they looked dangerous, I thought for such a "big" name team, PSV offered virtually zero attacking threat and played for the draw. Leicester should have won from the chances they had in the first half, although created zero in the second half. 4. Passing along the halfway line/slow forward movement - Leicester were as guilty as QPR of that in the second half particularly and that led to lots of grumbles from home fans. Felt like home from home... Although I'd rather be watching QPR do it against PSV than against Peterborough. 5. I enjoyed watching the PSV fans. Synchronicity and noise that you won't really see from UK travelling support. All seemed to go without incident too as there's been a fair bit of trouble in Leicester's home European games this year. Although the usual mouth breathers who like to congregate themselves next to away ends to act hard were out in force as usual. It was nice to watch a game where ultimately the result meant nothing to me, although nothing will ever be able to beat watching "your" team. Even if we are doing rubbish at the minute | | | | |

Funny you should say that as I did mention it to my mates that I've experienced that stand wobbling and jumping up and down like they were at one point would make me nervous!

"No Marc, no!" was the scream from John Gregory and Warren Neill wasn't it as they saw him lining up for that volley?

Ah yes, I was in a Cambridge pub that afternoon when Sky thought it was worth showing it to the nation and beyond. The world has never been the same since.
