Bug things. 21:42 - Jun 22 with 1397 viewsMick_S

I know you lot will nail this. We have two big trees in our garden. Around 9:15 every evening, hundreds of fast moving buggy things are doing their thing buzzing all over the trees; Sycamore
( bastard thing) and a Beech. I’d guess they are around 2 inches long and quick, so I can’t get them with the binoculars. What are they?

Stag beetles aren’t that lively, are they?

Hurry up, it’s getting dark.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Sorry to hear about your issues. I'm no expert but am fascinated by insects.

They might be beech bupestrid beetles, according to this article:

There are some pictures here:

That said, the ones you are describing are larger than the ones at the link above.

I'm sure someone else on here can come up with a better answer. I know very little about tree pests

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
