Hi all, we’re doing a house swap this Christmas with a mate who lives in Claygate. I’ll be in London for the Leicester home game on the 20th of December. Wanting to take my two little Rs to a game at HQ so I wanted to know how far out can I book tickets? I found a travel company that can book tickets for 89 Euros but that seems extortionate. Any advice would be gratefully received.
If we can’t get tickets then I’ll go to a QPR fan pub just to soak up some atmosphere along with a trip to the club shop for souvenirs.
I'm not sure about far in advance stuff these days, but I suspect you should be ok - some ST holders will be away for Xmas, or not arsed depending on our fortunes.
Twickets was the official reseller. It may still be:
In the past I have got tickets for overseas visitors at the Box Office and sent pics to the visitor as proof I bought them then passed them on at the game. As soon as the 1st home game after they go on sale is announced I don't mind doing that again.
The grass is always greener.

Twickets isn't a thing anymore sadly, the club went away from them. I thought it was really good and you could get bargains.... now you have to buy ST resales through the club at full match day prices.
incidentally, I wonder why clubs don't release all fixtures for sale so people can plan? I know games get changed etc but still

At least most fixtures and dates are pretty set in stone or they usually give you quite a while notice that something is changing.
In Spain you don't find out the exact date/time until 2 weeks before the fixture. I once booked a trip specifically to see a match only for the game to be changed to Monday night, I flew back Monday lunch.

It's usually about a month in advance for home games and a fortnight for away. Any more fixtures on sale at one time and the box office would be swamped at times and twiddling their fingers at others. Wouldn't be an economic utilisation of staff, might have to pay extra overtime or hire more for the busy periods, in which case service levels might suffer due to inexperience.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Got some great tips. Last thing and most importantly, which pub before the game? Be great to meet some of you in person and buy a few beers 🍺
For my pilgrimage to HQ tomorrow was wondering where’s the best place nearby for a pre-game lunch with the family? Thanks in advance. Stu
That’s a very good question, given the demise of the Adelaide and the Nepalese restaurant, at the Bloemfontein end of the ground.
Plenty of choice in Westfield, very family orientated but a bit bland overall. There’s a flat iron in there that’s reasonable value at £20 for steak, chips and a sauce, not a huge plate but value compared with some of the tosh served up elsewhere in Shepherds Bush at a similar price.

Another vote for Westfields. Yes it's a Mall but just much more convenient if you have family/group of people.
I went to a gig at the O2 last night and got the tube back to Stratford straight after.arriving about 11pm.I was a bit peckish so I looked around for a shop or takeaway open.An absolute wasteland with everything closed, even the Stratford Westfield centre. I hope that our cup game doesn’t go to penalties or there will be nothing open again. What a sh@thole.
