Apologies not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere, been away a few days, but he's switched nationality to represent Ireland.

Ooh, that could end badly, if there's some sort of contingency add-on for international appearances, I know he wasn't technically a free, but they let him go for a free, with sell-on clauses, etc.

It's a mere pipe dream at present because it won't happen any time soon, as he's hardly done anything for us.

He clearly isn't at all productive playing wide on the right, as he just cuts in nearly all the time. He/we need to establish his best position.

If the likes of Oxford, Leicester, WBA & Pompey were to win over the weekend, in games they should fancy being victors, that gap could be reduced to just 6/7 points. So the likes of Vale need to start performing for us, as they have been championed as being the new leading lights and we are now reliant on the likes of him to get us over the line this season.

I agree he's not a wide player. Although he can deliver a good ball into the box at times, he can't go past a full back.

He'd probably be best employed as a 10, as and when we play a formation that requires that position.

He played at LB for Bristol Rovers . I have never understood why he is not played there when RND is not fit .

That’s us qualified for the next World Cup then 😜.
Thought he was our best player against Boro .
It’s a low bar mind.
He’s the same as more of our players . Zero consistency.

It’s because there’s zero consistency in the head coach.

Any particular island?

Outer Hebrides maybe?

From what I’ve seen Harvey Fail does not have the minerals to make it at this level.
Reminds me very much of a certain Jimmy Smith who followed a similar route to us. Can pick a pass and looks good when not under pressure, will razzle in the odd superb goal but…. Not got the physique, attitude or nuts to be a Championship player week in week out.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

That can be said of five other players in this current team and is the reason we are getting spanked every week.

"Vale has represented England at under-15, under-16,[21] under-17 and under-19 level.[2]

On 17 June 2022, Vale was included in the England U19 squad for the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.[22] On 1 July 2022, Vale captained the England U19 side and provided an assist for Carney Chukwuemeka to score in a 3–1 victory against Israel in the final.[23][24] His performances during the competition led to his inclusion in the UEFA team of the tournament.[25]

On 10 May 2023, Vale was included in the England squad for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.[26]"

He's Irish now is he?
Joke of a rule.

I've always believed that

a) you should only be allowed to play for your country of birth or that of your parents, and
b) you shouldn't be allowed to switch once you're 18.

I’m guessing he simply O’Vale’d himself and they accepted….

Bigger issue is Jimmy Dunne being out of form with possibly the most important game in ROI history coming up quickly.
He wont make the starting 11 but has been coming on as a sub late in games and I fear he wont be in that squad.
As for Harvey Vale its pretty simple like Brian mentioned ,play for the Country of your birth or your Parents and most important once you represent that Country its set in stone.
See Rice and Grealish for examples .

I agree with all that, but on this occasion, as an English man, I'm willing to let it pass.
It's certainly not going to run.

It's one thing declaring for Ireland. It's another to raise your game to a level which will grab the attention of the selectors. I hope he succeeds and look forward to cheering him on in the Aviva Stadium in the years to come.
