Spurs fans don't seem too fussed and Levy doesn't make many mistakes in the transfer market.

It does seem strange, even for 10 mill, they must have something up their sleeve.

Jack Robinson to Blackpool (loan) and Tommy Spurr to Blackburn (perm)

Both pretty good signings IMO, I like the look of Robinson and Spurr has always been knocking around as a full back in this league, surprised he is still only 25.

Caulker was the type of signing that Hughesless should have been looking to make last season rather than chasing the no chance signing of Michael Dawson.

When I heard Caulker had gone to Cardiff I thought it was a terrific signing and was very surprised Spurs let him go having spent so long carefully developing him through loans and into their first team. Then I heard how much Cardiff had paid. That's a risky one.

Young English centre half, mainstay in U21's and already over 50 premiership starts?

Was it 8 million? I think that is fine. He could be their main CB for the next 10 years.

I said I thought they would be ok, this may well work out.

I think Hull are buggered but then again I said that about Swansea in their first season. Doh!

If he's Cardiff's CB for the next 10 yrs it possibly means he's actually not that good?

9 million for a centre half, and people said we wasted money

Jack Robinson has been my left back for QPR on football manager for so long I forgot he was an actual real person

Cardiff are at least buying young players with potential for their money.

They are following the Swansea/Norwich/Southampton model more than the QPR model.

I know who's has worked best!

That depends doesnt it. If they consolidate and stay in the Premier League then yes. If they go down and he goes with them and becomes just another player that never reached their potential then no.

If though he becomes 'too good' for Cardiff then I am sure they can get their money back and more considering the prices 'top level' English players seem to be going for at the moment.

The only alarm bells for me would be that Spurs are no mugs, Levy especially and if they are letting him go there may be something up, although not being good enough for a team challenging the top 4 doesnt mean you wont be a great addition to a team that would consider anything above 18th as a win.

Caulker was very strong getting a run of games for Swansea but looked a bit shaky filling in at Spurs. Still seems a harsh sale but Spurs will likely think they can get better for that kind of money - the Romanian chap they're trying to sign (for a million less) is excellent supposedly, and better suited to AVB tactically.
