Virgin Trains has slashed the price of 500,000 seats.
Travellers will be able to claims their tickets from 10am on Tuesday August 22 to Sunday August 28.
Trips must be taken between September 11 and December 20.
Customers can buy the discounted tickets at www.virgintrainseastcoast.com/halfprice and thetrainline.com .

I looked at flight to Newcastle yesterday for sunderland £120 from Heathrow do not think the trains are much better.

The cost of travel for going away is at times crazy. I was a tad jealous when I found out via a mate that Spurs put on chartered away trains at £20 quid return for games.
