It's not rocket science. You reward players if they get top flight into their contracts and if they get relegated they get paid less. If I was negotiating a contract in the championship it would be a steady 80k a year or whatever the championship pays to rise to 120k a year premiership but if you get relegated then you're back to 80k. The problem is when players drop they're still on the 120k
