I parted ways with Daniel Day-Lewis after There Will Be Blood. Everybody said it was a masterpiece. I thought it was terrible, with DDL hamming it up throughout the whole movie. The same thing happened to Al Pacino. He stopped acting and started shouting.
Last of the Mohicans is one of my favourite films, but DDL had good dialogue to work with, and he wasn't so over-the-top in those days.
