Recalling days of yore that yearn at the soul of your heart.

Spending time in Ireland watching the sun go down in the back field in the middle of summer at 9.45pm and knowing that it’ll still have an afterglow for a half hour yet. It felt like life was never ending and the world was tranquil. No worries.

The moments that make life feel how it should.

Beyond the bollocks of the working life and death.

Standing in the central Queensland outback on a barmy night. Enveloped in stars.

90's rock/indie clubs before Youtube made people genre snobby.

Woody's Westbourne Park on a Saturday as an example.
Sepultura/Metallica followed by the Happy Mondays or The Stone Roses.
Good times.

I was watching a PBS documentary about Woodstock and it occurred to me, watching people like Wavy Gravy and his Hog Farm altruistically caring for the needs of almost half a million people, that there has never been a time since then that I thought the world was heading in the right direction. Compare that with the shitstorm the world has been since then and the certain knowledge that people will never be that nice to each other ever again.

The grass is always greener.

I saw that documentary too,and to get everyone’s needs catered for for 3 days was amazing.I think there would’ve been riots now if people had to live like that at a festival these days.Or any other event too.

If you've got an hour...today's Start the Week programme was on 'Understanding Melancholy'. It starts off with a discussion of what the term 'melancholy' meant in the 17th century, before moving on to contemporary psychiatry
