Who'd be a football manager? 09:45 - Feb 18 with 1595 viewsdmm

A bit of a different perspective from Rotherham’s Paul Warne on what it's like to be a football manager https://www.theguardian.com/football/football-league-blog/2022/feb/18/rotherhams

He comes across as a really decent bloke and I like the way they’ve stuck with him each time they get relegated.
Got mates who live in Rotherham so really want them to get promoted so we can have a great away day (and night) and that they finally manage to stay up.
Also, if I remember correctly they were our first game when we got promoted back to the Championship?

If you enjoyed the Paul Warne article (thanks for posting DMM) you’ll love this book. A few years since I’ve read it but I remember the Gareth Ainsworth chapter being particularly eye-opening. Not only was Wild Thing picking the team at Wycombe but also searching eBay for a good price on training nets because the current ones were full of holes. I’m talking big holes not the little ones they’re meant to have. A great read and a fascinating look into the psychology of what it takes to be a modern football manager.
