All. I am usually brief, so apologies if I don't elaborate. 1. Kolli. Out of nowhere I saw him starting vs Norwich in a game I was expecting us to get rolled. instead he scores 2. BUT (and not the only time either) he impressed me in his pressing CBs and GETTING the ball. Plus his teamwork with Chair was revelatory. In my mind he is faster, a better carrier of the ball and has better feet than Frey. To me I see him as the better starter with Frey coming later to finish off the frustrated opposing CBs. 2. Madsen. My observation is that his defensive game is just not up to speed. He has been culpable for not closing down opposing Midfielders or not anticipating passes. Currently, Varane, Field, Morgan, Colback are ahead of him. 3. Celar. MY observation is he was continually offside or slow to anticipate passes in to him. He was not decisive in his opportunities and got more frustrated as time went on. He missed that penalty and when he did finally put a patch together he was injured. I would be easily persuaded into a thinking he might feel best pressing restart. |

Ha! I am a clinical Microbiologist in Texas. Great stories here. Been in USA for past 40 years and my testimony is similar to several of these posts. [Post edited 5 Feb 19:02]

Sheffield U are 2nd. I doubt they want to be this years Leeds Utd. Currently they have good competition with said Leeds U and even Sunderland who are bringing Jayden Danns. So, as I see it Dunne maybe THE piece of the puzzle they need, NOT a guy who has virtually no competitive games in eons. For the Hoops, we could get a younger dedicated RB. Or best case, Dunne is energized and steps up his game. [Post edited 3 Feb 23:08]

He has grown immensely! I do really like him. I see a few posts harkening back to the epic Gary Waddock displays and I see this 'terrier' element in him. Even when we were insipid and tame he was at least chasing after the ball. His assist for Smythe was sublime, as was his goal v Leicester. Definitely pivotal to our better defensive displays and counter threat. |

I too am excited about this one. EDB, JCS also highly regarded academy players. I still have hopes for EDB, but JCS is a stalwart on his day. The young talent that has not clicked at bigger clubs seem to be netting better returns for us. As i said in another post we have been short and the subs have leaked opportunities and dropped points. Again, happy about this |

So no one else has ventured, so could we see Mads and even Celar eased out? |

And along those lines I see Ronnie Edwards as a probable permanent, with Fox , Dunne and Cook not yet set in stone for next year. |

Nice string here. Doak is probably the league MVP, and worthy of discussion as a potential heir for Salah..who Lpool are clearly not going to extend themselves to re-sign. As for Paal; I think the defense has been vastly reorganized. Tom Fellows exhausted Paal on Day 1, but there were MANY holes that day. Now Paal and Dunne are more than supported by Smythe and Chair with disciplined support from Morgan and Varane. We fail in late game situations where the subs do not have the defensive accumen of the starters. Which points to why there is interest in X. Simons. |

Watching the last few games, Kolli is sharper faster and has a significantly better eye for anticipating . Norwich game and last week He anticipates passes, pressures the opposition and creates his own opportunities. |

my sentiments as well!! As I recall Hayden was seeing less time toward the end, whereas Varane is on the sheet virtually every game. ..and improving in strides. |

St Clive. For me this was a case of more Mist fire than opportunity. Or in contrast opportunity taken rather than mist. Players rested, other players asked to play in new combos an outing for a promising keeper with little game time. The biggest mist was not seeing more youngsters. We had no serious injuries, and the players with questions hardly exalted themselves. Job done. |

Was just about to make the same notation. Given his improvement, if Varane can take advantage of opportunities that do come his way (along with Kieran) it will make our 2nd half that much better. |
