He talks so brilliantly and with such passion: they did well to keep him to 4 minutes! Well done Mark: great recognition for what he has achieved and hopefully opens more doors and leads to more donations for the foundation.
Not sure it’s been a ‘nightmare’ for the lad: thought he was brought in with the future in mind and would be primarily in the Development squad but due to our numerous injuries has had to play more than expected for the first team.
Surely he won’t get a better job: the difference between him and Vincent Kompany is that the latter was a well known world class player whereas the former was an average Championship player that no continental clubs will have heard of. He gets to spend the whole of Christmas with Lucy Pinder though so that will be of some comfort for him.
Obviously asked by Cifuentes to play much deeper today than Wednesday: he did his job.
Scored two goals on Wednesday and won us the match so he clearly played the type of football you wanted then but you still thought it was a ‘poor performance’. What did you want to make you happy with him: a hat trick? 🤣
Wow you really don’t like Field do you? MOTM on Wednesday: you couldn’t have been watching. Part of a solid defensive performance today and headed off the line so played his part: silly foul for their goal but decent enough.
Bristol City are very decent at home and started the game on fire: great defensive performance from us and job done to get to HT level. Seemed inevitable to me that we could only get better going forward and City would blow themselves out after a while and thought we edged the 2nd half. Well done Varane and Smyth, was the type of game for Cook and Dunne to do well in. Thought Alfie Lloyd had his best game for us, pacy and direct.
You really needed to have watched that first half to see how bad both teams were: a lot of the crowd were laughing it was that dire as player after player passed it straight to the opposition or hoofed a pass into touch. It was dire.
Well you’re not really supporting him, you’re slagging him off.
Didn’t have a great game last night but has done ok recently and has been improving. Cifuentes trusts him to cover left back and also moved him to right midfield for a bit after bringing Fox on so that’s good enough for me.
Exactly: we were always going to improve once a few injured players returned and the new lads settled in. We’re moving in the right direction but still a lot of games to play and points to win.
"We played some good football but lacked that cutting edge in the final third. There were some good moments, but there wasn't that crispness that we've seen in recent games. "When their first goal goes in – especially when we've had good control of the game – it changes the complexity of the match and feels like you're hard done by. We conceded a very sloppy second goal and it's not the result we wanted”
We couldn’t play any worse than the first half: a half competent opponent would’ve dominated us.
Luckily we played a lot better after the break whereas Oxford remained at the same level. Field was excellent, centre backs dominant as usual. Varane decent again.
Attendance seemed low, loads of empty seats in Stan Bowles Stand.
Thanks for your opinion Bazza but I’ll keep challenging whatever I want. It’s not ‘Trying to police it, ridicule it, or diminish its worth’: it’s just opinions you don’t agree with or like.
