Eze had 29 minutes plus stoppage time.

Are you actually capable of saying anything without exaggerating facts?

Glad you mentioned that as you said he’s had no more than 20 minutes when he’s come off the bench. If you bothered to check he’s actually had MORE than 20 minutes EVERY time he’s come off the bench. He’s had 23, 23, 25, 45 and 45 minutes off the bench and been named man of the match in two of those games.

He’s been excellent at Villa and is a dangerous player when motivated. I’m glad to see him out of Man Utd and back playing for England.

He was a bit crap on Friday though 😂😂😂

Oh so you’ve gone from saying he hasn’t started a single game to saying he’s only started one PL game, ignoring the other three he’s started? Ok. I mean it’s misleading but at least it’s accurate.

As for my thoughts on a 35 year old Henderson being picked…. Well my initial thought is he’s 34 not 35. More arbitrary, inaccurate guess work!

He’s started 4 games of their last 7 and got 4 assists in his last 6 games so your stats are completely fictional. He’s been very good for Villa.

He wasn’t getting picked when he was at Man Utd so I’m not sure how his ‘Man Utd pedigree’ has anything to do with his selection for these games.

Are you aware Rashford plays for Villa now? And that he’s been pretty excellent since joining? And that Brighton are in fact above Villa in the table?

Vinícius Júnior buying Rangers?

But in the US they have collective bargaining agreements, salary caps, enormous TV rights deals and local authorities that often pay for Billionaires’ stadiums by taxing local residents.

Every single NFL and NBA franchise is profitable. Much easier to imagine that being a symbol of status and a desirable, exclusive billionaire’s club. Very, very different to paying millions per month to watch Nico Madsen with a warm lager and a microwaved hot dog.

Could anyone shed any light on why any American investor would want to share 20% plus of a £24m annual bill? And what role a redeveloped or brand new stadium would have in that investment being attractive?

With the majority of even Premier League clubs being loss-making... I just don't understand why someone would want to invest? What's in it for them? Just the perverse ego trip of being able to say they own part of an English football club... Maybe a Premier League Football Club one day?

Aaron Drewe and Josh Parker are there too. They love playing in blue and white hoops these boys.

Is he out of contract in the summer? Please can he stay here forever? I don't know what I would do without seeing this man race around in a QPR shirt smiling like he's won the pools. He's become like a son to me. Only I love him far more than I could ever love a mortal son.

I'm picturing more a Leeds / Burnley / Sunderland. I suspect he was in at least one of those buildings last summer and his stock has had absolutely no harm since.

You really think if one of those teams come knocking he'll say no thanks because he loves it here so much? I'd absolutely love that but I think the reality is he'd go. Burnley probably.

Well I'm guessing just like anyone else but I doubt there was as much smoke as there was at Sunderland last summer without a little bit of fire.

Frankly I hope he stays here forever. He's the best thing we've had possibly since Venables / Francis. But he's never stayed anywhere longer than 2 years. By the end of this season he'll have managed more games for us than he has anywhere else in his career. My money would absolutely be on him being elsewhere before August. I guess time will tell.

I think your heart is ruling your head there.

I think if any relegated team fancied him - and why wouldn't they? - he'd be gone immediately. Possibly a top 6 team that didn't go up too.

Personally, I'd be shocked if he were still our manager going into next season.

Absolutely no chance you get £1m for Kelman. Even if you could, he’s out of contract so will be moving on a free.

Madsen

It's not just a build / physical thing with Madsen though is it? Even if he were built like Bob Hazell he'd still skirt, dance around and avoid challenges. His mentality is to stay upright and clean and do technical things. Even if he looked like Tarzan, he'd still play like Jane. I'm not sure if they'll be able to change that and I don't think any team in the Championship can afford to carry a player like that in the XI.

Got to admire your consistency here, SE. You criticised Marti a few months ago for his involvement in poor transfers and now some of them are undoubtedly coming good, you're consistent here by giving him some of the credit. Fair play to you. By the same token, Nourry is due some credit from me to counterbalance the slagging off I did a few months ago.

On Madsen... I'd still say - whoever is responsible to whatever degree - he and Celar were our highest price and most important acquisitions and they both appear to have landed fairly wildly wide of the mark. I'd still not give up on Celar personally after 'that' night in Cardiff, though we look far better balanced with Frey in the team. Madsen though appears an absolute shocker of a transfer and completely wrong for the Championship. Unless we can get some money back on him he'll continue to hurt our P&S position for the next three seasons so not quite as easy to chalk it up to 'not every transfer works out. The swing and miss on Hevverton was exactly that and that's fair enough, no biggy. Madsen though was a significant outlay for us and with how tight our P&S situation is we just can't afford to commit what we did for a player that is far more helpful to QPR when he's sat in the stands.

The smaller fee transfers though of Nardi, Morrison, Edwards, Varane, Saito and even Frey himself have been really quite good now they're finding their feet and I think shows a much better recruitment profile than ones we've had for quite a number of seasons.

The Urine Kit
at 16:38 3 Feb 2025

I'm with you on the requirement for hoops. I know the say they like to have a break between DTM kits as they sell more when they come back but there's no good reason that every away kit isn't hoops surely? They could have done piss and black hoops or even hydrated piss and dehydrated piss pinhoops and it would have been ok. They can still go mad on a wild third kit and wear it a couple of times a season if it makes money... Just have us playing in hoops in 95% plus of the games.

I'd be very surprised if any hooped away shirt doesn't sell better than the majority of plain ones. Especially when piss coloured.

I'm not sensitive about it at all. I'll talk about it as much as you like. I'd just rather not give moderators a headache so would rather do it in private.

By the way I read a race related 'joke' on this very forum last week. Why would you be so triggered about it as a plausibility? That's a rhetorical question.

I'm not 'targeting' anyone. I feel passionately about this subject so won't apologise for my choice of words or vigilance. I wouldn't want to turn this thread either off-topic nor into something Clive and the mods have to police but feel free to DM if you'd like to discuss what I meant.

Again... I wasn't talking about the club having a bias in any way. I don't know how you got to that from what I said. I actually think the club does a very good job of ensuring they don't have biases.
