Ralph played high pressing, high intensity football in the early days of his reign. I interpret that as a high energy, high pressing game, high up the pitch. Rohl plays that style, having done it as assistant with Ralph. [Post edited 8 Apr 21:00]

The more I think about it, I can see why this might happen. He has premier league experience, keeping Everton up as ST has just said. He managed Chelsea. He has done a good job at Coventry. He lives in the south. He's a big name, who could manage us in the PL, if we were to be promoted.
I am very much for Rohl, but he has never managed in the PL, should we be promoted. I can see the thinking with Lampard if true. But Coventry could yet be promoted. [Post edited 8 Apr 16:02]

Parachute payments, Dibling will bring in a lot money, more money I suppose. In theory we will be better placed to come back up. [Post edited 8 Apr 15:49]

Totally agree. But, is there a slight, tiny chance that next time, they might realise from this year's disaster, that they will need to buy more athletic, better players or we will be straight back down? |

I agree. I think 2 relegations in 3 years for Sport Republic is a dreadful record, but it seems like they aren't going anywhere. Like most fans, I can just about accept them if they get it right next season with promotion and then stay up, having learnt from their mistakes. Otherwise, as I said, it will be last chance for them before fans give up on them. They have made mistake after mistake, so I am not sure they will learn , but I suspect we will be okay in the championship. We will receive a lot of money for Dibling as you say. I would welcome Adam Armstrong coming back. Not sure Downes will stay. There will be a lot of upheaval though and not sure about Fraser, Charles, Manning being what we need. They are just average in my opinion, with very little game time in the last year. [Post edited 8 Apr 13:24]

Sport Republic have to get it right, with promotion back to the PL. If we fail, or struggle, and recruit badly, the knives will be our for them.
However, the likelihood is that with the parachute money, we will be better than most other championship clubs, and should be there or thereabouts again next season. We will likely win games again, and likely to be near the top, bringing the feel good factor back.
But it won't be easy. We will need to completely change the team. [Post edited 8 Apr 13:01]

I heard quite a few Americans with Spurs caps on. It felt like a friendly game. £6.50 for a lager was quite steep.
Why do we always play Spurs when the sun is beating down on us in the away end? It was quite hot again.

Yep, he was a disgrace today. Pulling out of tackles, strolling around not bothering, and had one shot that ended up in the top of the tallest stand in the PL. Pathetic indeed.
He's playing because we don't have anyone else. Adam Armstrong was sent out on loan. [Post edited 6 Apr 18:46]

And our fans thought the performance deserved a standing ovation? The fans are more pathetic for telling the players they were excellent.

Just been relegated, so let's cheer, smile amd say well-done for being the worst team.in the world - the first team in PL history to be relegated with 7 games left. Are they Saints fans?
