 | Forum Reply | Southampton To Play £100 Million Hardball With Manchester City & Spurs at 23:46 26 Mar 2025
Trouble is though Pat, we could get £25 million or £100 million and either sum the doughnuts who own and run Sports Reports will waste it on young hopefuls and Championship journey men. That’s what they did last close season and make no mistake it will happen again this time. Two Premiership relegations in three years and on course to be the worst team ever to contest the league says all anybody needs to know about them. [Post edited 26 Mar 23:47]

Hope springs eternal but the bookies don’t think it will happen. They are offering 10/1 against relegation with six other teams at shorter odds. |

March 25 10.53 :- “ yes you could say that ultimately what the ticket manager does ultimately rests with Sports Republic”. March 26 10.16 :- “ Sports Republic are not directly responsible for “ALL” things S F C”. Hmm. |

Nick, with respect you really are on the wrong side of the argument on this one. Probably I suspect because of the fact that your understandable loyalty to, and love of all things S F C, has temporarily clouded your judgement. Every man and his dog can see that Sports Republic are responsible for all things S F C and you did in fact acknowledge the same in a previous contribution to the discussion did you not ? If you take your last comment that it’s wrong, clouds the water and is counter productive to its ultimate conclusion, then no criticism of Sports Republic ( however small ) would ever be allowed. I’m reminded of a couple of old expressions:- 1. Never fight a battle you know you can’t win and 2. If you are in a hole stop digging and look for a ladder. |

Again Nick and said only in fun, do have a holiday. “ Sports Republic have a chain of management, the ticket office manager will be right down the list of that” your words not mine. So on that basis ultimate responsibility for the ticket office managers actions rests with Sports Republic’s management does it not ? If not, then with whom exactly pray ? [Post edited 24 Mar 17:23]

This morning I received an email telling me that as a season ticket holder I could purchase two additional tickets at a discounted price for the upcoming Fulham fixture. This afternoon I received an email telling me that pricing information in this morning’s email was incorrect and that tickets can only be purchased at the standard rate. I don’t want additional tickets at any price, but honestly is there anything now left that Sports Republic can’t mess up ? |
 | Forum Thread | Ross Stewart, what’s wrong this time ? at 12:13 21 Mar 2025
The Sunderland Echo and The Scotsman both reporting further injury problems. I’ve every sympathy with the guy but hasn’t the time come to accept that his football career is over and seek an insurance payment for him ? Alternatively, does the club just wait until his contract expires and continue to pay him in the meantime ? |
 | Forum Reply | Which numbskull on the board wanted Juric as boss? at 08:07 17 Mar 2025
The whole lot of them gather in the Boardroom and the Club’s ceremonial tombola machine (also used to pick the team on match days) is brought out. Names of applicants on separate pieces of paper are entered into the machine, it’s spun and a cleaner is blindfolded and he/she draws out the name of our next manager. The Board members then congratulate themselves in once again having avoided all responsibility for the way our club is run. Doubles all round then follow. |

A man from the era when we had some quality players, unlike the dross that Sports Republic present to us to watch nowadays. |

Can’t help but think that there won’t be very much touting next season when we are mid table in The Championship. More like please bring a friend for £10. |

Preferably neither of them. |

Come on Pat, don’t you understand that fans don’t come to watch games anymore ? Their sole purpose in the eyes of Sports Republic is for them to visit the St Mary’s theme park and donate large sums of money buying hideously over priced food and drink. |

To be honest Nick I’m not certain what your question actually was. If you repeat it for me I’ll give a reply my best shot. Reference your suggestion that he has not missed anymore games than the average player, I venture to suggest that if you are correct it’s because he spends most of his time warming West Ham’s bench. This season has been an unmitigated disaster. The summer will be an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start afresh. You don’t do that by employing a 33 year old injury prone has been. |
