Agree, most of it was light hearted, no problem with that. The Ct one shouldn’t have happened but wonder if it started due to a lack of response from him to the light hearted chants. Still wrong in my book but possibly not reading the room more than anything else. If nothing else, it’s worked if it meant to wind up the Marti disciples in the fan base, this summer on here was a touch exhausting. |

I like to imagine him screaming ‘cowson’ as he leathers it straight through the keepers face and into the back of the net. |

Totally agree. Think the ref sussed that Mbengue can look after himself, their 10 melted in the end. Leicester reminded me of us when we were weak, petulant fouls because they just couldn’t cope physically. |

A real desire to win has been bubbling under for a little while now, occasionally surfacing, but today was a real step up. Either that, or a lot of these players didn’t have the love for Marti quite as much as a lot of our fanbase. Probably a combo of the two. Whatever, long may it continue. |

9000 inside a day is impressive. Block 219 for us, I’m waiting for my son to advise which post code that’s in. |

That’s a very good question, given the demise of the Adelaide and the Nepalese restaurant, at the Bloemfontein end of the ground. Plenty of choice in Westfield, very family orientated but a bit bland overall. There’s a flat iron in there that’s reasonable value at £20 for steak, chips and a sauce, not a huge plate but value compared with some of the tosh served up elsewhere in Shepherds Bush at a similar price. |

I’m getting to like digital tickets when I can easily put them in my apple wallet. When you can’t, and I’m having to scroll through hundreds of old emails, they’re a fckin nuisance. |

Yeah, think a purely despised thread would have been Barton and nobody else. I’ve kind of reinterpreted it as a ‘really didn’t like him, what was he ever doing here’ thread but would have been a bit of a mouthful as a title. |

Permission to add Steve Slade to the list? For those who were fortunate enough never to have witnessed him, a forward who averaged a goal every twelve games for us, and as paltry as that sounds, barely managed another goal anywhere else in professional football over the rest of his career. Quite how he got 70 games out of this club tells you all you need to know about that period in our history. |

Edward’s weakness is in the air, buy him and we’ll also need to splash out on a new keeper in Jan. |

Happy our negative goal count wasn’t hugely increased more than anything. See we are joint 10th for goals scored, 21st for goals conceded. Perhaps over achieving at present. We were warned, probably by Clive, that JS is known for being a bit gung-ho and nothing so far suggests that will change. Still, we look to be safe so fascinated for the second half of the season, let’s see how this goes. |

Looks to be lacking a right back, Warren Neill possibly? Fascinating thread, having only been there once I thought it simply involved a three hour flight from Gatwick and a decent pint on arrival. How times have changed. |

31 points and if we could get to 35 points half way, after 23 games, we’re very nicely positioned to have a go at top 6, if we really fancy it. Lose the next two and we’re set up for 12th to 16th as per. As you say, slowly improving. JS is doing better than I expected after the first three games, these players do try to buy in to a manager in the last few years. Now hes seen the first round of games in England for the first time, I’m hoping he’ll start managing the line up for the second round of games with a view to nullifying some of the better teams we’ve played, particularly those sides that have brushed aside the ‘anthill mob’ ( I do like that) with relative ease. |

Fair enough Baz. Given the nature of the thread, and I’m not blaming Mr Sheen here as it’s an interesting story and presented without any agenda, it would have been handier if you’d spelt that out in the first place. Anyway, given your reply, my apologies. |

Given the connotations of the Palace situation in this thread, perhaps you could explain to us honestly whether you are casting aspersions on our own support with this somewhat glib remark above. It’s a bit nasty if you are going to leave this hanging there. Are we talking racism here or is your curmudgeon remark purely a slight on the older supporter. Just give us it straight, we don’t need you lobbing grenades in the fckin room and walking away. |

Mates birthday and he’s so ill with it he’s cancelled our trip on Monday to Plumpton races. We’d bought our Christmas jumpers and everything, bloody annoying. |

That’s literally one side of the design I recommended to the club a couple of summers back. Hopefully it’s still like that for the Leicester game so Clive and the fella behind can report back on it’s effectiveness. This is quite an exciting development. |
 | Forum Reply | What are people’s thoughts on the Club pulling out all the stops in January ? at 08:35 12 Dec 2025
We’ve been hanging around lower mid table for the last ten years in the Championship. Both are manageable but if you asked Palace fans whether they’d rather have been us or them over the last ten years I’d imagine they’d all rather be them. You never know, with promotion the owners might even push the boat out and furnish the SAR with a working sound system, I’ve all but given up on the leg room. |
