Kamara is very good. So good my shoulders relax when he’s on the ball, bringing a temporary halt to all the headless chicken stuff that frequents the Championship.
That was the best 3/4 of a game I’ve seen us play in a very long time.
I’d give Kolli another run out against Derby, let’s see what he’s made of. |

Oxford Gardens, Yo!
Wasn’t aware Vince Power was involved at the KPH, prior to that it was largely known as a place to go for a pint and a fight, hence it’s moniker locally, the GBH. Had a company situated in Harlesden high street back in the 80’s, we were roughly opposite the Mean Fiddler. At the time some of the locals were trying on what you might refer to as a protection racket. It never got off the ground and the said entrepreneur at the Fiddler was part instrumental in that, swinging the biggest chain I’d ever seen round and round his head as he saw off a few of the protagonists. The old bill stepped in after that.
Loved the Ladbroke Grove area. Remember as a kid from the more central part of it, that you got as far as the cowshed in Barlby Road and studiously avoided turning left into bandit country. A mate moved from our part to their part and found once their locals knew you, the pubs were a good place to go. Shame so many pubs gone that end, still venture up there occasionally, largely the more gentrified end, Elgin to Mitre, these days.
Regards the demise of the racecourse, when he said the gentry didn’t like mixing with the locals, think he might have meant, they didn’t like getting robbed by the locals!
If I had a Time Machine, I’d love to go back 200 years and see what it was like around there. |

Sorry, don’t agree on this one.
You stop Bowen you pretty much stop West Ham. Kemper had done that, Bowen hadn’t had a sniff.
As for Lamptey, he’s not a left back. If you’ve watched Bowen, he’s lapped that scenario up his whole career. He’s scored that type of goal over and over again. Show him inside and he kills you.
It’s cost us two points, Lamptey probably out for another 3 months. |

On paper, if someone before the match had spelt out our plan for substitutions I’d have said, sounds about right.
Yet, once the match is in play, I’d be looking at that piece of paper and think maybe I should consign it to the bin.
We talk about loading, I get it, but Kemper comes from a part of the world where the engine is built to last. His previous injury was getting trapped under a bad tackle, that’s not the same as a player who’s always feeling his hamstrings.
As been said, he had the best player in the league in his pocket. Basically, you keep him there.
To me, that could have gone down as one of the worst substitutions of all time.
Aside of that, I have some sympathy for the manager. Smyth had taken a lot of tackles, you’d expect Vale to be better than that, he was awful, and I have a lot of time for him. Bowen didn’t foul him, why on earth he stayed down I don’t know, it wasn’t a good look given the effort everyone had put in.
Kolli had grown into the game, he needs to get his head round the fact this is not a development game, don’t give the ball up in such a cavalier fashion. Kone when he’s tiring, fair enough. But then another one who needed to be better once in the game.
Adamson brilliant. Think he cramped, so Mbengue dropping in at RB made sense, but no manager can countenance his brain dead contribution, particularly at the end.
Finally Lamptey, one stretch, unchallenged and game over. Sometimes, when a team tears up a players contract, you look at the circumstances and think with your head not your heart.

Appreciate your reasoned response, and it’s fair comment. Be nice if NW5 tried this approach rather than lobbing the standard go to grenades into the argument.
Take your point regards social housing, definitely true. Seems to me that if the houses to people ratio has remained relatively unmoved the problem is largely down to building the wrong types of houses/flats. When I train into London it’s hard to imagine any of those high rise flats around the river are in anyway affordable. Think it’s about time government secured those empty flats and put British people who require social housing into them at the developers cost. Not a perfect solution but it might concentrate the minds of wealthy developers.
Only thing I’d call into question, whilst London may only hold 1m more people since the 1950’s (its population did drop considerably in the 70/80’s and only recovered this century) but the population overall had increased by around 12 million in the last 30 years, and creating houses for that surplus 11 million outside London would be no mean feat even if they had built the right type of housing.

Feels like we’ve spent the last three weeks training with six of the first team squad, the rest either long term injured or international duty.
Whatever, none of this bodes well for Friday night. Hope we keep the goal difference in positive territory and then move onto Derby. |

Wonder if you’re cherry picking to suit your politics but you seem to have ignored LBlocks comment,

Remember all the stuff about him being a One Season Wonder, loved winding a Tottenham mate up about that, hard to believe it was twelve years since he was battling out Prem top scorer with Charlie and how those years have panned out.
Doesn’t really get the plaudits he deserves, doesn’t have the aura of some classic CF’s who’s scoring ratio was nothing like his, doesn’t give it the big one, like so many lesser CF’s. Probably the finest scorer we’ve had at both league and international standard, a decent man who goes happily under the radar and lets his football do the talking. |

Dry and sunny in Epsom.
Sitting in the garden after a hernia operation, staring at my lawn that’s been wrecked this summer. It makes our pitch look like a bowling green, that’s how bad it is.
Incidentally, is it normal for your dangly bits to go entirely black and blue and swell twice the size after said op? I suppose I should call Cobham Hospital but you lot tend to be well informed and it’ll save me having to engage with a chatbot for half an hour. |

Probably best to concentrate on your site rather than try to engage on other social media, you’ve got plenty of support from those on here, whether they always agree with you, or like some on here, myself included, who’ve called you out on certain stuff, not me so much these days for sure, but think this site exists for people who can entertain other peoples different views with relevant decorum.
Watched Question Time the other night, first time in ages, won’t be doing that again. Not so much the political discourse, but there’s a generation now that seem like robots, part computerised and ripe for plucking in this AI age. I don’t think they are capable of doing conversation. Genuinely despair of it, truly worrying if I wasn’t so old already.
As for the likes of X I have no words.

Can’t help wondering if the regime at the time were a little too comfy working in Cat 2 and were worried they’d be at risk of getting found out in Cat 1.
