Well I didn't expect that.
First half absolutely outstanding. They played the way we have wanted for the last 3 years Probably the best performance since Ralph was here
One of Europe's best managers made some changes and combined with us easing up the second half was a draw Piy because we could have improved our gd

Played really well in the first half, second half both sides seemed to have settled for the result and just went through the motions.

Finally we played to our strengths. Fast attacks with balls played through for fast or technically gifted players to run onto. In the first half very little side to side play and far fewer passes made to players with their backs to goal.

Today, Azaz and Fellows really showed why we bought them.

Fellows and Manning as wingbacks worked well. Most players really put a shift in, Armstrong even tracked back to tackle someone on the edge of our box. Jander and Scienza broke quickly. Bragg deserved his starting place.

If this level of performance continues. TE deserves the job permanently.

UTFS!

This doe put the Still era into perspective - dreadful appointment. Good players at this level playing to their potential and winning this one with extraordinary ease, as they should be in reality.

Tonda can’t do anymore if he wants this poisoned chalice that is? !

MOM Adam Armstrong - never seen him play so well, but Leo and Fellows looked really exciting with Finn ghosting around always likely to score.

Finally it looks like we may have the season we were all hoping for!

Whilst not taking anything away from what was a fantastic performance and result I am extremely disappointed that our players can play like that, but seemingly dropped tools under Still. I said that Still has lost the dressing room and what had happened since his departure supports this view, but the players are supposed to be professionals and that involves trying your hardest everything you pull on the Southampton shirt! Clearly they weren’t doing so and for that they should be ashamed of themselves!

Gorgeous, flowing football. If Eckert's behind it, we've nothing to lose—literally, so far—in keeping him.

Excellent first half. Armstrong was outstanding and Fellows, Azaz and Scienza all excellent. Sooner or later things were going to click upfront and today was the day.

Nice to see us do to others what has been done to us. We exploited the press and created space whilst moving the ball quickly, particularly first half. We have pace & skill in this squad, today they were allowed to show it. Second half they sat deeper and increased their midfield closing off the space. The excellent first half let us control the game and see it through. Tactically brilliant performance!
