Thinking of coming over to Legoland in the summer. Possibly stay a week or bit less. Might only do one day in Legoland. Wife was in Brighton as a child and wants to go back there so prob do day there too. At moment thinking of flying to Gatwick and hiring a car. Kids are 4 and 6. Could anyone suggest a place to stay? Possibly rent a house for the week if that was a runner? |  | | |  |

Just to warn you,Legoland gets rammed in the summer holidays. I went there 3 years ago and spent most the time queuing and only managed 3 main rides all day. queued for over 2 hours with the kids for the water log ride which lasted about a minute.
Depending what day you go its worth spending a bit more on the Q-bot system which allows you to jump the Queue.
Not sure on hotels around the area but obviously Windsor is nice,Winkfield, Fifield,Ascot,around Virginia Waters will have decent places to stay.
Thorpe park is worth a day out,again, fast track tickets is best.
And obviously a 30 minute drive down the M4 will take you to Loftus road! |  |

Travelodge all over the south of England. Book early and u can get a room for £19 for 4 of you. Plenty near Legoland and thorpe park and Brighton. |  | | |

If your doing the parks, Chessington world of adventure is also in that age group. Lego land, Thorpe Park and Chessington, as well as the London eye all come under Merlin Group Entertainments and it may be worth getting a merlin pass for the family. One ticket gets you free entry to all their attractions, discounted prices on food and merchandise. Worth getting the premium pass to basically fast track all the queues and is valid during kids holidays at all times. We did both the London eye and madam Tussards in a few hours over Xmas without advanced bookings. Walked up, fast track queue each time and straight in.
Also thoroughly recommend a place called Hobbledown for kids your age. Outdoor themed children's farm with loads of things going on, really great day out. It's in epsom where we live and our kids loved it.
In terms of where to stay, I would suggest having a look at somewhere like epsom. As others have said Travellodge makes good sense. That gives you London in less than an hour, and easy access to mainline trains going to Brighton and easy access to M25 area where all of these attractions are. Just remembered that the travel lodge in epsom is right by the station. [Post edited 22 Jan 2015 9:25]

Stay in Slough if you are on a budget. Its only a 15-20 min trip to legoland from there and well connected by trains and motorways. |  |

We went with the kids ( 7 & 4 ) last July and although it was busy the best thing to do is go to the back of the park and work your way backwards , we rarely had to wait that long and for the price the QBOT system is a waste of money IMO
We were only going to Lego land so did 3 nights in a hotel and 2 days in the park package at a local hotel ( comfort hotel about 10 miles away )

Heathrow is closer but Gatwick only an hour drive away so if it's saving money I'd go with Gatwick. |  | | |
