On the foreign policy argument, I can't see how saying "blowing up countries and leaving nothing but rubble behind is conducive to extremist ideologies developing there" is controversial.
It takes a special kind of stubbornness to argue against that imo.

Last week there was a betrayal narrative when it was revealed that Salman Abedi had been transported from Libya on HMS Enterprise in 2014. Salman Abedi was on a list of over 100 people who were to be removed from Libya.
A government source told the Daily Mail: 'For this man to commit such an atrocity on UK soil after we rescued him from Libya was an act of utter betrayal.'
Now even the Daily Mail is asking questions:
'Most important of all, why didn't the Ministry of Defence reveal the Navy's role in the Abedi story, which, so I reliably understand, has been an open secret in Whitehall for months.'
