Has anyone else had what I presume is a scam ticket from parking at the Oldham game.
I paid my £3 like everyone else and parked as instructed by the stewards on the hospital overflow car park.. I now have a formal PCN with photographs of my car and a demand for £70!!
Anyone have any info would be much appreciated.

Best thing to do is contact the ROH parking office (Estates or Facilities Dept) via the switchboard, or go online to the Trust website and get contact details. Ask if there's an official arrangement regarding the overflow carpark on matchdays, and if necessary try to obtain an email confirmation

That should be enough to cancel the ticket, whether its a scam or not - providing it's not a scam on the part of the stewards! That'd be something to take up with OAFC

The parking at ROH is farmed out to an independent company, but the proceeds from parking go directly to the Trust so don't be put off by any claims that "it's nothing to do with us" - it is! Good luck

hanks for the heads up.
Spoken to OAFC. and they are aware. I'm not the only one apparently.
Parking is farmed out to a private company it seems but OAFC are involved too.
It seems it is possible that everything is computer generated but the "override" wasn't enabled.
I'm trying to speak with the hospital.

Let us know how you get on, as you say there may be others in the same boat

Edit: of course, the "over-ride" would be for cctv numberplate recognition during certain times, but still, how would the parking company know you hadn't displayed a ticket unless the stewards allowed them to go round checking? Seems to me, all OAFC need to do is contact the company to have all tickets cancelled during that period, since the so-called 'offence' you've committed has to have a time attached

All they have done is taken entry and exit photos and then allocated a ticket no.
there was no ticket on any vehicle.

Yep, i realised which carpark you'd be referring to - the new one up the road to the right near the bottom entrance to the hospital site?

I never used it, think it was designated as "staff only" but refused to pay for parking at work, usually taken direct from salaries

Still, it's up to OAFC and/or Pennine Acute Hospitals to have the 'offence' cancelled due to their negligence in not operating the system properly. That'd save both yourself and the rest of those caught from the hassle of doing it individually

I'd urge caution

Whilst the inconvenience is a right bloody pain and the incompetence a disgrace (but not surprising to me), if it might mean the hospital having to fork out, especially to a couple of hundred people, that's not going to help anyone

It all depends who is liable for the system over-ride, i.e. the staff numberplate recognition system that operates in the carpark I'm assuming Barrowdale's referring to - well, it's the only one with that type of system - in which case it could be the hospital Estates Dept.

It should be sufficient for either that dept. or OAFC, or jointly, to have the parking management company rescind the parking offence notices. If this doesn't happen, then it's another matter...

Can't deny they're' creative' - drivers pay £3 and they demand another £70 - but I'm doubtful about the 'solutions'.

The counter-sue comment was tongue-in-cheek. I hope you get a quick and sensible resolution.

I have found the following message board a very useful resource when dealing with both Council Penalty Charge Notices and Private Parking Companies Parking Charge Notices.

The latter are often speculative invoices with little legal basis for their inflated charges.

Afternoon.
I hope it is sorted. Finally managed to speak to the guy who manages Pennine Acute car parks.
He took all details and said obviously don't pay.
I emailed ticket issuer and told them politely (!) I won't be paying.

Hopefully that's the last of it but I'll keep you informed.

Thanks for the update, and good to hear your follow-up has worked

Hope no-one has been duped into actually paying up!
